In spite of the map I’ve seen, I can’t get an idea of where these rooms are located. I’ve made a reservation but I would appreciate some guidance on what room to request. Something quiet with a view of (or facing) MK would be good.

Thanks.

I wouldn't expect a view of MK in any woods view room at WL. There may possibly be one or two on the very top floor, but I wouldn't count on getting that.

If you want quiet, though, that is very easy to get with a woods view room. The best thing to request is to not be too close to the lobby. Being away from all the lobby hustle and bustle makes a difference in the noise in the hallways.

If you look at a map of WL, you'll notice it's in sort of a U-shape. The inside of the "U" faces generally toward the pool and the lake (although you may not be able to see the lake), and those rooms are courtyard views. Woods view rooms are generally on the outside of the "U", facing out and away from WL. But WL is surrounded by woods, so those woods view rooms really do pretty much face woods. The bottom of the "U" is the lobby area.

Some of the woods view rooms on the North Wing have views of the Magic Kingdom - you do need to be on the 5th floor or higher, and many of the views are obstructed by trees.

We had a MK view from 6034 in November 2003 - beautiful - especially at night.

Definitely check the WL FAQ - there are even some hallway windows that you can see the MK from.

We had a first floor north wing woods view room. We could see the fireworks through the trees and the monorail passing by. This side of the WL also faces the otter pond. We saw the otters and lots of birds, ducks and bunnies. It was very quiet, but you can hear the fireworks and some of the Magic kingdom music. We loved it.

For a partial view of the monorail (off in the near distance)
partial view of the castle (way off in the distance) and
view of the fireworks at night (partially blocked by trees)

Ask for
North side
High Floor
Near the otter pond

Enjoy!

Room 5001 is great. Facing the lake...can see some of the fireworks and it's at the end of the hall. Very quiet.
