Wilderness Lodge vs. Villas?

This may have been asked before, but I thought I would go ahead and throw this question out there anyway. We are planning on going back to DW in 2009. We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge on our last two visits. We are absolutely in love with WL. However, as our kids are getting older (13 & 10) I am wondering if looking onto renting DVC points at the Wilderness Villas would be a better idea (to get some more room). When I look at the pictures of the Villas, I just don't get that same "magical" feeling that I get when I look at the WL photos. Has anyone stayed at both the WL and the Villas? If so, I would really like to know how they differ. I would also like to know if you have the same "magical experience at the Villas!

To get more room you would have to be in a 1 bedroom which means they would have to sleep in the sleep sofa. That may not be their favorite option. You can go with a 2 bedroom but that will cost you a ton of points. We've stayed at both and are DVC members. I can honestly say that we would not stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas again -- not because they are bad -- just for us it wasn't the same WL feeling. It is a very quiet resort though. It just didn't feel the same. Maybe you could do two adjoining rooms if you need the extra space.

We stayed at VWL in 2005 in a one bedroom and thought it was wonderful, but then stayed at WL this past Feb. and absolutely loved it. We were upgraded to a inner courtyard just off the lobby and have never had a better room or location anywhere. I'd go with WL unless you need the kitchen and washer/dryer with a one bedroom. It is very convenient, but a totally different feel.
