Santa brought us a trip to Disney last Christmas and rumor has it that he may be doing it again. He's trying to decide between WL and AKL. Any thoughts one way or the other are appreciated!

Thanks!

This was our choice too. We went with WL. We really like the way it looks as well as the boat over to the MK. Plus, we had heard that AKL was really far out from everything except AK so we didn't want long travel times. Good luck with your decision.

We stayed at AKL and loved it. I loved waking up in the morning and having coffee on the balcony watching the animals eat breakfast! Yes, it is a bit farther away BUT with dedicated buses, it doesn't take any longer to get to the parks and back. Also, we were there in June and had one standing room only bus the entire time we were there. WL is also nice, it is a hard decision.

We like the decor of the AKL much better than WL; I have lots of scrubby pine trees at home. The lodge itself is beautiful but the grounds not so much. However, the WL has much more to do than AKL; we rode the surrey bikes and rented a pontoon boat to go out on the lake. We loved watching the EWP every night from our balcony, and DGD (16 months) enjoyed playing in the sand along the beach. We also enjoyed just hopping on the boat to go to MK. We prefer Mara to RF, and Boma to WCC but that's a matter of personal taste. If it is just DH and I next time we will stay at AKL but if the kids/DGD go, we will stay at WL or maybe the Poly.

We are booked in WL this December, but are considering splitting the stay with AKL as well...

DW and I love WL. That being said, we had originally booked WL concierge for our December trip. We decided tochange to premium dining, however, our TA could not get AAA rate on the room at WL and the price jumped about $900. (It would have cost us less to stay at the BC) SOOOO, we had her check AKL (we had been over for a meal at Boma and loved the "feel" of the place). The price was comparable to our original quote, so we're staying there. I can say for sure that WL is a fantastic resort... we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the geyser erupt and the ducks swimming in the pool and stream. The boat access to MK is a plus, too.

Those are two of our favorite resorts. I think we like AKL a little better than WL but we would take either one.
