Hi. I watched the Travel Channel special on the Wildress Lodge and upgraded to the villas. I was wondering if anyone has stayed there and how they liked it? Also how is the pool at the villas? Also what kind of location should I ask for?

Thanks for your help.

Kathy

We were in 4514 last year 2 bedroom.
overlooked pool & lake.
I would recommend upper floor facing pool near elevator.
We hope to get the same in june:bounce:

The villas pool is a quiet pool, but you will still have access to the main WL pool.

If you are planning on staying at the Villas, you may want to consider renting points from a DVC member on this board, you can probably get a better price that way. Usually the points are rented out a $10 per point and there is no tax. Below is a link for a point chart. http://www.wdwinfo.com/DVC/VWL03Points.shtml

For a comparison, a weekday night in the first week of June would cost $425 ,plus tax (grand total $473.88--rack rate), from Disney. $280 per night if you rent it from a member at $10 per point.

Here is a link to the rent/trade board:

Sorry this is so long (and a waste of your time if you are a DVC member or already familiar with renting points).

We are staying at all star for 9 nts.in Aug. My husband now wants me to call and book the 2nd room for dd14 and girlfriend14 cause he thinks with 2 br, etc. But i am wondering on price for the villas would we be better off trying for a room here. I figure its prob. pretty pricy, where as if we book 2 rms at all stars. Im not sure what to do. Any help. of course we need 2 rms together, but i thought a 1 0r 2 br villa with washer might be better and can you get ftp pkg there?????????

FTP is available at VWL, though the 1 and two bedroom villas can be hard to come by. If you can get one though, consider renting points to get it. It can save you a bundle. Also remember when comparing the prices that at VWL you can make certain meals, even if it is just cereal or sandwiches one day, that will save you money over dining out (which you're basicly forced into at the ASSP).

Just remember, there are rules about points. If the member makes a reservation less than 30 days out, and changes the reservation, their points go into a holding account and they can't use them unless they are 30 days away from the trip OR they lose them. You will probably have to pay cash to make the reservation and the rest at least 30 days out, depending on the member (they may use Paypal). And you can't change the reservation at the drop of a hat. If you want a reservation close to that 30 day mark, you may have to pay it all before they will make the reservation.

Popular times need a long lead time for making a DVC reservation. Members can do this 11 months out at their home resort and 7 months out for others.

Points are more expensive for Non-DVC resorts than DVC resorts.

Check out the renting FAQs on the Rent/Trade Board.

2 rooms at the all stars will still be less than a 1 BR on points. And if you're going in August, the fairy tale package is a great deal!
