Can anyone explain to me how the boat service from WL to the Magic Kindom works? I believe it makes other stops but I don't know where. Does the boat always follow the same order in making stops? If so, what's the order each way?

How long does it take to get to MK? Is the boat better than the bus to go to MK? How often does the boat run? If I want to go to the Contemporary to eat is this a possible transportation choice?

Thanks for any info.

The boat, green flag, also serves Ft. Wilderness and there is no set patern. It takes about 5-10 minuets and is much better then the bus.

There is a boat about every ten minutes and you can also take the small launch, Blue Flag, over to CR and take the Mono to MK. Caution if you have small children as it is a long walk from the CR dock to the lobby and then up 4 floors to the Mono station. Many WL guests do go over to CR to eat, and you can also go to FTW to the Trails End Buffet, a favorite with kids. The food is pretty good and VERY reasonable. There is also a petting farm anuimal zoo and our favorite is the free campfire, disney movie.

We feel the boat ride to Mk a special treat and love it.

The first two pages wil give you a wealth of information on WL

We stayed at VWL from 1/28/03-1/3/04 and NEVER had more than a 10 minute wait (and that was because we JUST missed the previous boat). We loved the convenience and "ambiance" of taking the boat to MK.

I believe, and our experiences have backed it up, that the MK boat runs as follows:

Morning : MK-FW-WL-MK
Afternoon/Evening : MK-WL-FW-MK

I'm not sure when the "switch" time is, but I think I remember reading that it's 3 PM.

Be aware that during busier times (particularly if MK is the EE park that day) the boat may depart FW with nearly a full load and may not be able to pick up many WL guests. As mentioned, unless you have small kids, the CR boat/Monorail option may work better for you.

There is no bus from the WL to MK. You can take a bus to TTC and then a monorail or ferry to MK. Geoff_M is correct about the boat to the MK. The "switch" time for the boat was 3:00 pm earlier this month.

You can either take the boat from the WL to CR or bus to TTC and monorail to CR. The WL and FW are the only two WDW resorts that have bus stops at the TTC.
