Wilderness lodge to MK - best way?

I didn't misunderstand at all. I meant what I said, that it would be a short walk from WL to CR, but that there is no path to do so. So yes, you would need to take a bus or boat. There should be a path as the walk is not bad for those willing to do so.

All things being relative, it would not really be such a short walk between them.

The "shortest" distance (across the island) would require the construction of one to two a very expensive bridges, due to the lake.

A much longer path would require guests to cross the very busy N. World Drive (twice) as the narrow walk-way inside the Water Bridge is on the side of the road opposite the WL and the Contemporary.

The boat routes that connect WL FW and CR run in a circle each way...that is one runs WL>CR>FW>WL and the other runs WL>FW>CR>WL. Sometimes they will arrive within moments of each other and it can be better to let one go and wait for the one that is going straight to CR.

Or just ask the boat captain "is this the fastest way to get to CR?" and he may tell you to wait for the other boat.

It is 3/4 of a mile from the front entrance of WL to entrance of CR by way of the road. Not a long walk at all as I said. For those that can walk that far, it would be nice to have a path, I am not arguing the logistics, just saying it would be nice to have. It would also be nice to have a walkway that goes to the GF, but I know that isn't happening either.
