Wilderness Lodge to AKV

I wrote out a tentative schedule and possible ADR's for our June 10-20th trip to AKV concierge tonight and showed it to my wife to get her input. Her only comment, "We need to stay longer."
WOOHOO!

So, I'm going to call MS tomorrow and see about adding 2 days at WL, June 8-10th. We've never done a split stay before and I'm wondering how that works. Will we need to get our bags over to AKV ourselves, or will Disney do it for us? If they do it for us, about how long will that take?
Will we have to get two separate DDPs, one for June 8-10 at WL and one for the 10-20th at AKV?

Thanks in advance. I'm so excited! Now I have to call the airline and MS tomorrow to see if I can actually make this happen!

Bell services will transfer your luggage from one WDW resort to another...no problem. I don't know how long it takes...most people talk about going to the parks and it is at the new resort when they go to check in. Keep in mind you have to check out of one resort before 11:00 a.m. and you probably won't get into your room at the other resort until close to 4:00 or so. So there is plenty of time for bell services to transfer your luggage to the second resort's bell services.

I do believe you will have to get separate DDP's since those are tied to reservations and you can't link reservations at separate resorts to my knowledge.
