Wilderness Lodge - Studio Rooms - Want to be Close

Hi all! Our friends and us have both booked separate DVC Studios at Wilderness Lodge for our upcoming trip in May. On our last trip with them we had connecting rooms at our moderate hotel and it was great for the kids to be able to travel back and forth between the two rooms with little effort. Overall, the connecting rooms gave us all a tighter sense of closeness between families which was nice for that vacation.

I understand that we will be unable to have connecting studio rooms at Wildnerness Lodge because the studios only connect with the one bedroom suites in the DVC area of the hotel. So my question is, is there a particular location within the DVC wing where we could request our DVC studios be close to each other. We are looking to have a similar experience of connecting rooms. I understand that it won't be the same, but anything would help. For example: two studios located across the hallwall from each other at the end of a hallway, or two studios located next to each other...door to door in a low traffic place. Do you see what I'm looking for? I want to have a similar experience as we had with connecting rooms. I know... I should have sprung for the two bedroom suite, but our friends booked after us so it was too late based on availability. Also, we are very quiet and conscientious guests and are very careful to not disturb other guests by talking loud, slamming doors, etc. so please don't flame me for wanting to be able to move back and forth between two rooms.

Any ideas that you have on how we can accomplish our goal here would be appreciated. I have a resort map to reference if you know room numbers.

Thanks,
Jonny

I'd tell MS about your desires. There, of course, will be no guarantee that your request will be met, but give it a shot!

You need to call member services (MS) and have them put on BOTH the reservations your desire. We did it a few times and sometimes it's honor and sometimes it isn't. You put your major request to be near family X and they put to be near family Y. As long as there are no other requests your chances are good especially if you're checking in the same day. We do it when our family arrives days later. Often they honor, but sometimes they don't. Last year we tried at the BWV and we were near jellyrolls -- ground floor and my daughter was near the tennis court -- ground floor. We were as far away as possible without changing resorts. At the WLV we were about 6 doors/unit away which worked out great. She came to our room in the morning for coffee while the rest of the family was asleep. It was silly for her to make a pot of coffee just for her alone. Good luck!

:goodvibes We've been luckiest with requests of nearby studios at BWV! At VWL, we've had them on top of each other and also on different wings. However once, we have had them right across the hall, so it's possible. It just depends on occupancy I suppose. Pixie dust for you!pixiedust:

Are you or your friends DVC members? How did you book these rooms, was it through Disney Reservations or did you rent a reservation from a DVC member or are you a DVC member and booked it yourself? We need to know how you booked the reservation to tell you who to talk to to try to get rooms near to each other.
