Anybody had a std. view @ WL? How is it? Should we spend a little more for the woods view? What are the chances for an upgrade in October?

I understand the standard view could have you facing the parking lot. While the view itself is not important to me because I plan to spend my daylight hours out of the hotel, not looking out the window, I still would prefer not to hear cars coming and going at all hours. We paid about $20 per night extra for a woods view. We hope we'll get a courtyard view upgrade, but if not, that's fine. Like I say, I'm not paying $$$ extra just to look out the window!

We personally like the standard view-- our room was actually looking over a tin roof not parking lot-- but the reason i like it is because we looked down on the interior of the hotel up on the upper floor the view was great what i also liked was that on that floor there are rockers every so many feet and hybby and i would seat outside room and rock and look at sites while kids fell asleep preventing the need for us all to go to bed at 9pm or take an afternoon nap when my kids were younger we stayed there 4 times

Hmmmm.....wonder if I could downgrade on arrival? Best to check out the location first.

My parents had a lovely standard view of the restaurant service area and dumpsters. They wish they'd have spent the extra $20.

We had the same view as Crisi's parents. The view did not bother us in the least, but the "beep, beep, beep" of service vehicles backing up in the wee hours of the morning DID bother me!

I also had the standard room over the service area but loved it. I just didn't look down and the beeping was late at night and with the door closed I couldn't hear it. Now the difference for us may have been since we were on the 6th floor. We had an unobstructed view of the castle and the fireworks from our balcony every evening. We could even just lay in bed and watch the fireworks. So not all standard rooms are total bad views.
