Hello,

If anyone has done the Wilderness Lodge Sleigh Ride at Christmas, could you please post your opinion/ review on it. Ie, would you go again why or why not. Was it worth the time and money?

Thank you!

We did the sleigh ride in December 2006. It was cute. We learned a lot about horse care at WDW from the driver/horse trainer. The ride itself was just down a completely dark path that leads from WL to FW. We turned around halfway down the path.

If we ever do it again, I would like to take a carriage ride at FW to see people's Christmas lights. I hear they are spectacular!

To answer your question, I guess I really didn't think the view we had was worth the money. The CM was terrific though!

I agree that the CM makes or breaks this activity. We enjoyed it but we had two CM's that were hillarious!

We just did the sleigh ride this past Sunday night.
It was nice...but we probably won't do it again.

We had a nice cast member but he didn't really speak that much.
I had just lost my voice that day, so I couldn't talk to DH or DD or DS.
I would've spoken with him if I'd been able to talk.

If we do try a sleigh ride again...we'll try the one at Fort Wilderness so we can see all the holiday lights.

We did one last week and I'm sorry to say it was a waste of money and a waste of time as well.

The "sleigh" is cute, well decorated. But all you do is go down the street in the woods, turn around and come back. It's not magical. There's nothing to see except trees.
Our driver didn't talk much, but I don't know if it'd have done any difference if he had.

It was just boring IMO and a little embarassing, because they take the same street as the cars and buses, but the horse goes very, very slowly. We held up traffic, on the way back there were 4 cars and 2 buses stuck behind us.

There was a couple in another sleigh who we "met" in the woods and they seemed to be as mortified as we were. If you have little kids they may enjoy it, but for us, it became the joke of the trip. For the rest of our trip, whenever my mom complained in WDW, I threatened her with another sleigh ride :rotfl2:

Glad I made you smile :) And, I left out the best part of the ride, when our horse stopped to pee. He couldn't "go" until our driver turned off the Christmas music. So we sat in our sleigh and listened as our horse peed for a good 2mns straight. Magical. :wizard:

I totally agree! We did one a few weeks before Christmas, as a surprise for DD the horse lover. Unfortunately, even she looked bored. I expected it would atleast go somewhere pretty, but it really was just down a dark path and back again. And lol at the cars behind the sleigh! That really was embarrassing! :) I didn't realize that there was a different ride in FW - maybe we'll try that next time.

Marivaid! I remember your TR - it was last year, I think, and it was hilarious! Did you do one for this recent trip too? I'd love to read it if you did!

Oh...I forgot to mention that when we took the sleigh ride last Sunday, our horse had to stop to "go" also. We kind of just sat there and waited.

I was looking into the sleigh ride at WL. We just came back on the 22nd of this month. I thought the price was kinda steep for a little ride. If we were to do something like that, we'd do the hayride for $8 a peice. I called about it and found out there is no hay! So what the heck.

Maybe we'll do the hayride next time. :) HTH!

We did the carriage ride last week. It was nice but will I not pay the money again, $35 plus a $5 tip for 20 minute ride down a dark path. We did see the Epcot fireworks during the ride which was nice. The Fort Wilderness ride sounds a lot better

My son & I did this Christmas night. It was ok, but something I will not do again. The driver was friendly, but I think next time I will try Ft. Wilderness.

OMG that is hilarious!

We also did the WL sleigh ride on 12/14 after dark. I agree that the sleigh was cute but our CM didn't talk except to say the horses name "Dan". If the path had been lit up with Christmas lights or something it might have been more special but the kids were a little frightened by the dark trees everywhere. We won't do it again.
