Wilderness Lodge - Roaring Forks - What happened?

I've been looking at the menu for Roaring Forks and have noticed since our last stay there, the food selection has appeared to have diminished.

We use to stay at the Wilderness Lodge and really enjoyed the food at the Roaring Forks. When looking at the menu online, I was a little shocked to find that there were not as many items as I remembered available. Such as now they only have one type of pizza? When we went there they had 3.

I'm a little confused, is the menu online wrong or right?

I don't know how long it's been since you've stayed there, but when they did their last refurb, maybe two years ago or so, they totally changed the menu at Roaring Forks, as well as the layout and how you pick up your food. I really liked it back when they called your number and you picked up your hot food from a window in the dining room. Now you place your order at the counter and wait for it. Sometimes it is a long line because of this. Or they pre-cook things like the burgers, and you get a lukewarm sandwich instead of a hot one. The pizza isn't the same as it used to be either. It's a sort of flatbread instead of the nice thick pizzas they used to have. I'm not saying the food is horrible - it's just very different from how it used to be. They do have a pretty good breakfast there.

On the plus side, you're a quick boat ride from CR, and they improved their CS menu a lot during their last refurb.

We were there 2 weeks ago and found the food at Roaring Forks to be fabulous! The pizza flatbreads were very good, and the deli sandwiches were HUGE and very tasty. One of those easily filled both my DH and I, so we saved a lot of CS credits this way. And yes, the breakfast was VERY good as well. We really enjoyed eating here. My DS4 just mentioned it today in fact. :-)

I see they offer chicken strips which im happy about, are they any good there?

We stayed at WL last month (it was our first time staying there), and we thought Roaring Forks had a very limited selection. The food they had tasted ok, but just not much variety to choose from.

This thread while tangentially related to resorts, is really about Disney dining and restaurants at a resort and as such will be moved to the Disney Dining message board.

Thanks,

K

We stayed at the WL in Aug and the menu for breakfast was very limited too...the one thing that bugged me is they didnt offer sausage..and I dont do WDW bacon so I had no meat in the am....which is ok because they do have the best hash browns and scrambled eggs and oh man the pecan cinnamon bun is heaven on a plate
