Hi everyone! My family are planning to stay at the Wilderness Lodge in June. My question is...how is the pool? I have heard that it gets REALLY crowded because there is only one pool available. Swimming is on the top of my son's list and I enjoy going in, too. But I guess I am worrying about spending the money and not being able to enjoy the pool when we want. Can you put me at ease, please:scared: Thank you so much!

We just got back yesterday from 3 days at WL & yes the pool was crowded - not overly though so that it wouldn't be enjoyable. We actually never made it down to actually get in since our time table was so tight. We had a courtyard room so we could see what was going on there. However, we had planned on using the hot tubs, but after seeing babies in diapers in them decided not to do that.:confused3

Our family stayed at WL in December and we swam in the pool everyday in the middle to late afternoons. It wasn't overly crowded when we were there and we had no problem getting poolside chairs. Our 2 DD had no problems swimming and using the slide every day. Most days the lifeguards would have games etc for the kids to play which entertained them for an hour or so.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I have a fear of wondering around a pool for hours and not being able to find a chair!!!:rolleyes1

Eeyore's My Favorite...Did you enjoy the hotel? Thanks for your reply to WL Pool.:flower3:

We absolutely LOVED the hotel. Really wish we had been able to spend more time there just to wander around and soak it all up. It was absolutely amazing!! I didn't get many pictures inside the WL because my digital camera broke almost as soon as we arrived. We enjoyed sitting in the main lobby while we were waiting for our seats at WCC and just people watching. If we ever go back there again I'd like to take the morning tour through the WL just to see everything there is. Our room was awesome. Our only problem was that we couldn't "find" it at first because you had to take a certain elevator "down" to the first floor from the lobby. It was a courtyard view room with a small patio with 2 chairs & a table & it was so relaxing at night to sit and unwind after the full day at the park. Also sitting on the beach at night watching the boat parade was great & the ability to see the MK fireworks was special, too.

Enjoy your stay!! :cutie:

The WL pool does get a little crowded sometimes, but like a pp said, not so much that you won't enjoy yourself. We have always had a blast swimming at the WL :yay: :yay: Have a great trip:woohoo: :woohoo:

If the main pool is really busy I am sure you can use the one by the DVC Villas section.

Last time when we were there staying on DVC points I witnessed a CM "informing" WL guests who were searching for the pool that the hidden springs pool was for DVC only. I was a bit surprised, and happy, that they try to enforce that rule as per my understanding, the pool is maintained by the dues the members pay and not subsidized by the hotel.

However, if you rent a villa you are included in the group permitted to use the pool.

Maybe I read that the main pool was not open and the guests were using the DVC pool, so I guess in situations like that the pool can be shared which would make sense.

I have a TON of photos from WL (including the pool area) - PM me if you want to see them.

Yes, there is anther pool & jacuzzi (toward the lake outside the Health Club), but I was turned off to it when I saw two of the ducks hop in and proceed to poop. ICK!!!

The Villas pool is cool, though, with "geysers" (not above the water) in it.

Sorry the Cast Member was wrong the facilities at both the Lodge and the Villas are shared, guest staying at either resort may use either Pool.

I know!! I was sitting in the hot tub at the BWV quiet pool area at 11pm, alone, when a family with 4 kids under 6yrs old (1 in diapers) came running and screaming and jumped in and jumped and jumped and splashed and splashed....well, you get the picture!;) The quiet pool at the WL is wonderful. I have never been at the WL main pool, just looked down at it.

Swim diaper are allowed in all pools at WDW, at the Lodge there are two spa's one is hot the other is cold so the childern may have only been in the cold spa. :confused3

I have stayed at WL several times, and have never noticed one hot tub being "cold". When I was there, they were both hot. Kids in the hot tub is one of my biggest pet peeves. The minute a kid gets in, I get out. I wish they would make one hot tub at each resort "adults only".

Their parents were sitting right there - drinks in hand - watching the kids go from one hot tub to the other. All I could think of was the germs, etc, from those kids diapers mixing with the hot temps in the hot tub & got grossed out!!! :scared1: No one was really watching what was going on around the hot tubs at all while we were there. :confused3 Neither hot tub was "cold or cool" - we checked that out on our way to catch a boat. Both hot tubs were hot & it didn't seem to bother the kids or parents one bit.

With regards to the regular pools, we were told at check in that you could use either pool. We just never had the time to venture over to the DVC side of the WL & check out anything over there. Maybe next time. :cutie:
