This is starting to become a hot topic over on the Resorts Board (specifically, the WL Information thread), but thought it would be good to have a stand-alone thread on the subject. And being that this is just in the "rumors" stages, I felt that it belongs in Rumors & News.
A handful of sources are reporting that the main pool at WL will be going down for refurbishment sometime this year. At this point, no firm dates have been given. Initial speculation was that the pool construction would begin around 4th of July (essentially, right after they finish work on Silver Creek / Silver Creek Falls). However, the latest rumor is that the pool work will now begin sometime after Labor Day. Below are pictures of the Permits with credit to WDWKOOK from our very own DISBoards for posting these.
The description is generic - Main Pool & Deck Area, but I suspect this to be a resurfacing project. Again, all dates and timing/duration are purely speculative at this point, but the permit was filed on 01/02/2014, so the work would need to be completed by 01/02/2015 or would need to be re-filed thereafter. After Labor Day seems to make most sense, as this would be after the heavy summer crowds and into the "off" season (if there is such a thing).
