Hello all. We're travelling to WDW (3rd trip this year! ) on October 6th of this year. It's my DH's birthday. We (myself, DH, DD7 &DD9) have WL Courtyard View booked thanks to BAT for $169 per night. What can I expect from "Courtyard"? Are those the rooms you see that face the open space by the family pool with the slide? I hope so. I may try to beg an upgrade (would this be possible, do y'all think since it's his actual birthday day when we arrive? ) but I won't mention this to my family.

I have a PS at WCC for that night and also one for Boma (long story, original res. started off at AKL). I won't embarrass him with the birthday hi-jinx at WCC.

Thursday is up in the air, only thing is CM for dinner. Probably skip over to EPCOT WS or MGM for morning/lunch.

We'll stay at WL till Friday, 10/8, when we move to Poly, GV. How are these rooms? Any suggestions on bulidings for proximity to beach/pool and monorail/TTC?

That's our busiest day, lunch at Kona at noon, dinner at O'hana around 5:15, MNSSHP in the park at 7'ish.

Saturday I have lunch at CRT (I know no characters) as well as Plaza Restaurant. DH is meat & potatoes, shich would be better? I have dinner at WCC and Boma again, I hope to get to eat at both of these restaurants during this trip.

I know I rambled a bit, forgive me, I am a mother. I get this habit from my 9 (going on 19) year old!

Thanks in advance,
Robin

I've only stayed at WL, but, Yes, those are the rooms around the pool. Our first stay at WL was courtyard view. Still my favorite! Love sitting on the balcony and people watching and hearing the spring/waterfall. It was like hearing the ocean. :D

Sorry can't help you with Poly.

As far as CRT.........I've heard it's better to go just for dessert. Isn't it kind of expensive?? Maybe it's gotten better. But it's hard to beat the atmosphere. :D

If your DH is a meat/potatoes kind of guy.........have you ever done Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch?? gets great reviews on the pot roast. A lot of good reviews for other stuff too.

Have fun planning. I leave tomorrow so I shouldn't even be on the boards tonight.

Thanks Mom, gee that's weird saying that! I ws hoping that those were the rooms. One of the times I called Central Res. (there have been so many) the guy tried to tell me that courtyard looked at the woods by WV's. of course this may have been the guy that "booked" my reservation (courtesy) and then entered it in the computer that I was "shopping". "course he also refused to even hear the PIN number that I had from my postcard!  . Lucky for me I called back the next day to change my "reservation" to another day/month. ARGH!

At the Poly our favorite longhouse is samoa, its centrally located to everything, gch, captain cooks, right by the volcano and quiet pools, just perfect. Dont forget to try to enjoy some of the free childrens activities that they offer for resort guests while you are there.

Actually Wilderness lodge has two Courtyard Views one that is refered to as "Inner Courtyard View" overlooks the Silver Creek falls and Silver Creek Springs Pool...the other Courtyard View is located on the south side of the building and overlooks the queit pool (Hidden Springs Pool) the Villas and woods...The CM was correct...If you want the Inner Courtyard View be sure to have it added to your reservation request. (like non-smoking, queen size beds, & Inner Courtyard) For more information on the Lodge please visit over at WL FAQ, there is information on page one about activities and room assignments then if you have any additional questions just post away. Just click on the link below to check-out all the fun things for guest to do while staying at Wilderness Lodge:

Thanks for that advice. I'll call again tomorrow and request inner courtyard. Hopefully we can get it. What got me about the male CM I mentioned was his unwillingness to take my PIN code that I had in front of me, told me that what he had was the best rate available. WHen I called yesterday and talked with Inez (sweet lady), she took the code and saved me a bunch at AKL for a pool view. Moot point now that BAT became available but it was the fact that this guy das unwilling to type in a few numbers...........

Maybe I am making too much out of this but his telephone demeanor was noticibly different than every other CM I've ever spoken with in all of my time making reservations through them.

Thanks again for the heads up.

A CM should never disregaurd you or the information you're trying to give him...you were right to feel like he was just being condescending because he made you feel that way. Hope you have a great trip...Glad you talked with Inez sounds like she has turned the negative experience around and as added the one thing the first CM didn't have...
:wizard: Pixie Dust :wizard:

Have a Majical Trip.

Inez was a dream, as was Mavis, who I spent ~ 45 minutes on the phone wih on Wed. AM when the BAT code came out. She manipulated things for me, gave me opinions and suggestions and reminded me about PS's. I have had very positive experiences with all of the cast members except for this young man, maybe he was just ready to go home, or didn't get his sprinkling of pixie dust that morning:teeth:

The funniest experience I had was with a youn gma who gave me ideas for last minute costume ideas for my girls (large bag from resort gift shop tied at neck, instant package!). He told me his plans to go the the MNSSHP dressed as Malefacent (sp?). Boy I wish I could see him!:earseek: :earseek:
