Wilderness Lodge Photo Thread- Please feed my addiction!!

That's a railroad hand car. Two people would pump the middle handle to make them move along the rail. I think it was just used to travel faster when building. As far as I know, they were only used for human transport rather than carrying anything like logs, but I could be mistaken.

Thank you! Actually I can see now that it's too small to carry logs - I just saw them next to it which made me wonder. I really like the look of it.

OMG, This thread is awesome! We're booked in a dedicated 2 bedroom in the villas checking in on Wednesday! I honestly, only booked VWL b/c we've never stayed there before, and I want to try all of the DVC resorts. But the pics look amazing! Can't wait! You think there's anyway I can make the next 3 days go any faster!!!!!!!! And definitely be on the look-out from pics by yours truly after Labor Day!

Funny, those are our exact dates. We're celebrating dniece's bday this trip (8/31)! Be on the lookout for for 3 crazy kids under 5! We have our hands full this trip!

Yes it was an angel. It was there when we arrived. This was in 2001. The villas I believe were about a year old. We will be there again on Nov 29. Just can't wait.

Ok; so I've been MIA for a while and I apologize. I did think of this thread while we were there and it made me laugh to take some of the pictures that I otherwise wouldn't have thought of taking. (I mean, who takes a picture of the fire extinguisher? LOL!!) Here are just a few. I'll add more in the next day or so. Enjoy.

Has anyone been lucky enough to see the Armadillos? One of the CM's told us were a family was but we never saw any.

we saw them every morning and every night at the caribbean beach resort. they were so cool looking!
