This has to be one of the most beautiful pictures of WL I have ever seen.

Thank you kindly.

Loribell, I took that shot many years ago with my old 5MP digital Sony 717...one of the few cooler nights at Disney where you don't mind walking around with a tripod taking scenic shots!

That was a great shot of the water falls. I like the angle.:goodvibes

I thought we were the only ones who dragged around tripods at VWL and various other Disney locations! We just broke down and got a sturdier one. We bought a new camera a few years back that is way too heavy for our old one. I hate it when the picture blurrs! We will be at OKW this Sept and hope to get some night shots there. Low light pictures, our favorite.

Thank you.

I definitely like to bring the tripod around the resorts and into the parks too - but I pick a day or two to do it - don't want to carry it around all the time! But I agree - low light pictures are awesome, and Disney is an especially scenic place to take them.

It's easier in the winter when it's cooler to carry around the full camera bag and tripod - this past trip last week, I mostly left the tripod in the room because it was just too hot and muggy to carry it around - I didn't do many night shots either. But December and January, I take tons of night shots!

Also...sometimes I rent a locker and put the tripod in it with my bag - if I know I'll be at parks all day but don't want to carry around all the kit. I can take handhelds and snaps during the day, ride the rides, and enjoy...then at night, go to the locker, pull out the tripod and the low light lens, and do some night shots.

That is a good idea renting the locker. I think we might do that in Jan when we stay at VWL. We love to stay up really late while at the lodge and take pictures when there is no body around, same for the parks. So peaceful.....Thanks for the tip!

Love the Wilderness Lodge - best lobby in Disney! Somehow even the summers don't feel quite as hot when you're walking around the high mountain lodge grounds:

I am a DISboards newbie and know this is a little off subject but couldn't help but echo the praise on your fantastic castle shot - wow, very cool!

My family and I will be there in December '08 as well - YIPPEE!

Wilderness Lodge is by far my favorite Disney Resort!

Well, I am trying to keep it going as well DisneyNutz. I have been browsing the net & found some photos to share.

Here is MY photo from December 2007, right exactly IN FRONT of the castle for the best photo of the trip, I could not believe how well this turned out!

And to believe that in December 2008, my son & I will be able to leave the fireworks show & take a boat back to Wilderness Lodge for the very first time ever is soooooooo EXCITING !!! Yippee!!!!!

Yes, we were chosen to be flag family. It's such a special honor. To think that only 365 families a year are able to participate. I feel like I belong to a very elite club. Here are a couple of pictures from the rooftop.

Great pics! How were you chosen? Did you ask ahead of time for this? My kids would love this.

You aren't really chosen. Upon check-in, just ask if you can be flag family. They have a book and if they have any openings while you're there, they'll put your name in the book. You also get a certificate that you were Flag Family.

Great idea !! Take photos that us mom's like to see-- the bathroom, refrigerator area, sinks, shopping area, restaurants, etc......

I have actually have 230 days left until my 1st vacation stay at the WL, but that is okay, I LOVE the anticipation !!!!!

Have fun & just relax & take in all the Disney Love !!!!!

Here's some pictures of Whispering Canyon Cafe. Make sure you ask for a table in the main dining room. That's where all the fun's at.

I showed DH all the pictures yesterday and he really liked the look of the resort. He told me to go ahead and book a trip for June 2009 at this resort.

I also booked us an ADR at Whispering Canyon in September so he can take a closer look at WL.

Thanks for all the great pics. :cheer2:

We had a hard time getting our waitresses' attention since we ran out of butter and my daughter had 1 corn cobbette left. Our waitress brought out 3 large butter balls for that one piece of corn.

My daughter was having a little fun with the waitress and asked what was in the Triple Chocolate Layer Cake. "So there's chocolate in it....?", "So,,, there's only 3 kinds of chocolate in it?" When Allison brought out the cake, she had added a 4th kind of chocolate...., chocolate chips.
