Help me decide! November one day trip week after thanksgiving.

One night trip for dh and myself...leaving children at home.

Plan to attend MK one day.....deciding whether to explore resort Christmas decorations the other day or visit dhs.

Which resort should we choose....wilderness lodge or boardwalk villa studio?

The WL decor does not appeal to us so I vote for BWV. We have enjoyed our 2 stays at the BW. It is not all that convenient to get to the MK from there but getting to HS is super easy!!
By the way, enjoy the adults only trip!! :cheer2:

WL would be my choice hands down. The decorations are unbelievable! And it's closer to MK. You can hop on the boat, it's a 5 min boat ride!!! :yay:

You picked our 2 home resorts. I would stay at WL that time of year. However, both resorts are great so you cant really lose.

Based on your plan to visit MK one day and possibly tour resort Christmas decorations the next, the best place to stay would be WL. It is much easier to get to MK from there. And you would be able to tour 3 resorts on the monorail rather than two resorts on the Boardwalk. The Christmas decorations at the BC/YV/BW resorts are nice, but nothing special. And the themes of the three resort do not say "Christmas".

Closer to MK. Short boat ride. Also quick serve, sit down dining, and bar all in the lodge. At BW you have to walk outside to the boardwalk. Due to the proximity of WL to MK definately stay at WL

I am actually thinking about a trip December 2013 at villas at WL. I think it would have the cozier more Christmas feel. We own at Beach Club and love it there but being from New England, in order for it to feel like Christmas it must be cozy!

Well, considering I'm staying at BWV in December and WL in January, I don't know that I'm the best one to ask, lol!

However, a couple questions that may clarify things in your mind . . .

You mention DHS. Are you going for the Osborn Lights? There have been times when the transportation leaving the studios after the lights is really crowded. It's nice to be able to walk back to your resort at night.

You mention looking at decorations. Fort Wilderness has some great decorations on the campsites and it's very easy to get there from WL - not so easy from BWV (although it can be done). Visiting other resorts would be about the same from either (although I'd give a slight edge to BWV as you can walk to DHS and catch a bus to any resort).

As far as the rooms themselves, the studio at BWV will have a slightly larger fridge and a microwave. WL will have a small fridge and no microwave. BWV will have one queen bed and a sofa bed that comes in handy when you don't want to sit on a bed (like waiting for someone to finish getting ready). WL will have two queen beds. The bathrooms are laid out very similar, so that's not a deciding factor.

I like both resorts (I stayed at BWV in January and WL in May this year as well) and you really can't make a wrong choice between them. Think seriously about where you will be spending your time and about which theme appeals to you the most, and one of them should rise to the top of your list.

I had a bad experience at the Boardwalk. Bad plumbing, leaky roof, moldy painting

Go with WL
