Does anyone know if the background music played in the Wilderness Lodge has changed during the past few years. I have always loved the music, and I am now trying to collect it. I have found several listings of what is played, but it seems like I heard the music changed a while back. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks for your help.

We were just there in June and I didn't notice any change, but I wasn't specifically sitting in the lobby trying to listen to every song!

Mousesavers.com has a very comprehensive list of the music from WL - it even has a link to iTunes where you can buy the songs if you want.

I think some may be from Dances with Wolves soundtrack. There are some other familiar western instrumentals that I don't know the names of but they're in my head right now!! I love listening to the music in the lobby!! I used some as background music while we ate at our wedding a few years ago. We had a western theme honeymoon including a dude ranch and it just fit in. Along with the normal wedding readings, the minister that performed our wedding had a Native American blessing which had me add the Dances with Wolves soundtrack to our music played!

I was there in July and the music I heard was the same as the music I heard two years ago.

I have a recorded tape of a Samantha Brown "Great Hotels" show featuring the Wilderness Lodge. It was made quite a few years ago and features the same music. We watched the tape right before we went so it was fresh in my mind.

They have changed the music. They don't have the great wild west music from Last of the Mohicans, or Dances With Wolves, or the great Aaron Copland music anymore. I don't remember much about the new music, except some of the American President movie soundtrack, which they hadn't had before. I noticed the change about two years ago. I actually sat in the lobby for three hours waiting for my favorite tunes, and nothing. :sad1: It's not that the new music is bad, it's just nothing compared to what they had before.

You are most certainly correct fla4fun, they have changed the music at the WL.

I wish they'd go back to the old soundtrack.

Thanks for the information. My son was certain the music had been changed when he was there a while back. The last couple of trips I have stayed at BC and only visited WL for dinner. I definitely liked the music they used to play. Next visit (hopefully staying at WL within the year) I will have to pay particular attention to what is played. Maybe they will see the error of their ways and return to the original music.:)
