Hi--- I'm just about done with my Son's Buzz Lightyear Costume (Next year, I am buying him a costume:D ), and now it
s time for a new project.......I want to make Christmas Stockings for our Christmas Trip to the Wilderness Lodge. Trouble is, I can't think of a kind of fabric that would be "wilderness Lodge-y". Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!! Jill

How about something with bears, moose or cabins on it. If you have children...how about a cowboy theme?

Just a suggestion to get the ball rolling!;) :)

I like WendyZ's idea better than what I was going to say. I really like red & green for Christmas stockings & was just going to be boring & say corduroy or plaid flannel. A couple years ago my sister bought quilted material & made red stocking with a green foldover at the top. They're really nice. But something with a moose - I just love moose! Especially Christmas moose. :teeth:

I have seen some great flannels in the woodsy theme. There are some with pine cones/branches, fishing, and cabins. I think I also saw some with deer/moose on them. Flannel would make a sturdy stocking.

I've seen lots of gorgeous tapestry-type fabrics with a woodsy theme ... Would something like that work?

I like the plaid flannel idea, You could sandwich a plaid and a solid together with quilt batting and machine quilt it with just diagonal squares.

Wal Mart also has tons of theme coordinating fabrics that you could combine together. Some may already be quilted for you.

Or maybe even fleece? I seem to remember a cute woodsy-themed print last year at Wal-Mart. Pine trees, moose, bears....
