We are in the midst of planning our spring 08 WDW trip. I am curious about the WL. Will it be feasible as far as getting from the MK and Epcot with a 17 month old, stroller, etc.? Any thoughts? :confused3

It is very easy to get to MK from WL. Just a short boat ride away. From there you can hop on the express monorail to the TTC, and switch to the EPCOT monorail. :thumbsup2

We have been twice.

We stayed at the WL with a 14 month old and a 35 month old, two years ago. We had a wonderful time. We are bringing them to the WL this October! Why... As PP stated, you are a short boat ride to MK. Can take the boat the rail to get to Epcot or just use the bus to get to Epcot. The pool is really nice. Love the stream in the lobby, that turns into a waterfall outside, into the pool. The food at the quick serve is very good (lots of yummy choices). The Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of our favorites. The atmosphere is so relaxing! It has a small playground on the beach. Wate pagent at night is cute. Love the quick walk to the campgrounds. There are tons of fun stuff over there.

The stroller was a bit of a problem with the baby and the bus/boat. It was a lot of work getting on and getting off the with all of our baby gear. But it really work out fine. We now only take our stroller for the airport, hotel and Downtown. We now rent one at the parks. It is just easy to travel around the world without the stroller. We brought the stroller with the kids twice and left it behind this past May. Was a lot easy for us to rent one. We also took a cab a few times instead of using Disney transportation if we knew it would take a while. You are saving so much by not renting a car, that it is sometimes worth just grabbing a cab and avoiding the stress of travel with the baby.

Long story short, we love the WL and hope you will too!

Nikki and Danielle, thanks so much for all of the advice. I have been curious about WL for a while. We are staying at the GF this December, however, we plan to only go to the parks for two days during our April/May vacation so that we can enjoy the resort. Thanks! :)

There is a lot to do to just enjoy this resort! I've stayed here many times. It is my favorite hotel for the price. Not only is it easily accessible to MK and Epcot but there is so much to do at the resort itself. DFi and I rented a boat on our check-in day and rode around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. From there we were able to get some great views and pics of the front of the MK. You can also rent a surrey bike, hang by the beach at night for the electric water paegant and a view of Wishes. They have a fun family friendly restaurant and a really nice lobby with lots of couches and chairs by the fireplace. I'm not sure how much of that you can do with a 17-month old (bikes, boat) but if you are in for a relaxing trip, this is definitely a good place for it. :thumbsup2

We've had dinner and lunch there numerous times but will be staying there this Dec. for the first time. We're really excited.

I had both boys in the double stroller at WL. You can wheel the stroller right on the MK boat, and I found it very easy. We did not bring much to the parks and saved a lot of time going through the stroller entrance and security. You do have to fold up the stroller to get on the CR boat and the buses, and although it is pain it is well worth having the stroller with you.

Have a great trip!

We stayed at WL with a 2 yo, and the boat was great with the stroller. For Epcot, we took the bus. As long as your stroller is lightweight and folds compactly, it shouldn't be a problem. We have a Pliko (old version of the Peg Perego P3). We had a system - DH folded the stroller and carried it onto the bus. I took the backpack and the 2 yo. Because you have to fold the stroller, it is helpful to have a bag that is large enough to fit everything and one that can be easily worn (either backpack or across the body - whatever works for you). This way, you won't need to carry multiple items.

Wilderness Lodge

It's a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, which is really easy for strollers because you can wheel it right on the boat. Makes for a really convenient time at the end of the day where you can just wheel it right into your guest room, without taking the child out.

All other theme parks can be reached with a bus, just be sure not to board a bus marked Fort Wilderness, because it won't take you to the Wilderness Lodge.:upsidedow

We love WL, won't stay anywhere else. Well, maybe GF, someday.....when we win the PowerBall. We will be at WL this time next week...can't wait....already packed...I have never wanted a holiday weekend to be over so bad!!!! :lmao:
