Wilderness Lodge and Deluxe Dining Plan

Next December my DH and I are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for 11 nights - we decided to get the deluxe dining plan. I think it will be exciting to visit other resorts and eat at different sit down restaurants. My only concern is that the WL is far away from all of the restaurants. Should I be concerned or am I worrying for nothing. Our plan would be eat breakfast between 8:30 and 9 - eat lunch around 2 and then go back to the Lodge to take a break and then eat dinner somewhere around 7:30.

If you do not have a car and intend to rely solely on Disney transportation you should allow at least an hour to travel between resorts.

I hate to say it but it might even take more time than you expect to get between WL and Contemporary via the boats. If you miss the boat that goes directly there, you have to wait 20 minutes before it comes back, as the next boat to dock will be going to Fort Wilderness first.

We just returned from a stay at the WL and had the DlxDP. We usually had ADRs in the park most mornings at 8am, lunch at 1pm and then dinner between 7 and 8pm. Most days we did not go back to the resort before dinner, so we weren't really traveling to a restaurant from the resort. You will love WL. It is so quiet and peaceful...so nice to go back to after a busy day in a park. We loved taking the boat to the MK. Have a great trip!

We were on the deluxe plan in Jan '08 for 11 nights at WL and we thought the location was lovely. We don't generally go back to our room before dinner on park days, so we just planned our lunches and dinners based on our park plans, and being just a boat ride from the MK made getting back from all the wonderful monorail resort restaurants super easy.
