Re: Renee (Runa). If you guys remember, she's doing a very intensive internship right now which is why I'm sure we haven't heard from her. I'll send her an e-mail ... maybe she'll see that.

Tonya: "Need we say more"? Ruh Roh! I'm not sure how to take that :lmao:

We could, if everyone will be at the meeting at 1:01 at signals, exchange gifts, lay them on the table and everyone get one. I'm just worried about them being lifted if they are left outside the staterooms. What are your ideas?

Oh MAN! :sad2: Why do you do that? He doesn't need any encouragement!

If I could only get things put on the back of these shirts. Oh how fun that would be. :)

That could be VERY dangerous! Of course, with t-shirt transfers and an iron, you could have a LOT of fun!

Need we say more, you will be the life of the party.
See that honey? You have a lot to live up to :rotfl2:

I think im going to take mine to an airbrusher and get my handle put on it.

That's a great idea!! I also think someone will take the gift outside the room.. I thought the meeting was at 3pm???
How are we going to get the names ?? I can help if needed!!

I think bringing them to one of our meets would be a better idea than leaving them outside the stateroom doors.

Are we thinking each couple/family would draw another couple/family name?
How would we know who has who without "spilling the beans"?
$10 limit is good.

OR, we could play "Yankee Swap" like in The Office Christmas episode and see what happens then!!! :confused3 :lmao: (I'm watching it now, and they have other names for it: "Nasty Christmas" and "White Elephant" :rotfl: :rotfl: )

I'm open to whatever we decide.

You could be the   version of the Tag Fairy!!!! :lmao:

A version of yankee swap could be fun. Those kinda trashy or risque things work well in a family or work group where you know the participants well, but . . . let's hold off on the junk - it's too much trouble to pack it, bring it, swap it, just to throw it out on the cruise, because nobody's going to lug junk home.

The other Disney fan website I belong to does a gift game with real gifts annually at Mousefest and a great time is had by all. It takes about 1.5 hours for 40 people.

How about bringing something from our state or local area? Bring one - get one. Then no one has to worry about collecting names or making sure the numbers come out even.

I like the idea of a family would pick another family!!

Good Night All,

Wow what sad news about the Yankee pitcher Cory Lidle. It's a shame :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: !! Well I am going to give DS a bath and get ready for Dancing With the Stars :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc. Have a great night !!

My guess on DWTS is: Sara :thumbsup2

my 2 cents worth,
I think Linda's idea of bring one, get one is a great idea. It makes it so much simpler to do. No need to worry about names or finding out who the secret ant a is.
Just buy something, bring it, put on a table where ever we decide to do this and if you brought a present, you take a present to open.

Once we all agree on what type of swap this will be( with or without drawing names) we can then agree on a time and place to do this on board.

I would like to suggest it be a sea day so we dont have to worry about people on excursions.
I dont know where, there will be events going on in most of the public areas, perhaps by the family pool area. There are tables we could set the gifts on along the walkway , by all the pools with room for several people to gather.
It is just a thought.

I would love to hear some ideas of when and where from everyone else too.
I'm sure someone out there must have a good idea about this.
Speak up so we can make some decisions soon.

Kathy

My 2 cents:

I love the idea of a local gift ... something that represents where you come from. After all, that's the most fun about this board is getting to make new friends from all over. $10 limit, definitely.

Personally, I like the 3 p.m. on our embarkment day in the Promenade. But whatever everyone decides is good for me.

I like the local idea for a gift swap, any time is fine

DWTS Sara should go home tonight,
Wendy

Sorry Linda -- I didn't mean bring junk (although I suppose that's the real meaning of Yankee Swap!)!!! I was meaning what you suggested much more eloquently -- bring one, get one. I've also seen versions where people can "trade" or "steal" items from others. But that's not a good way to start the trip!

I also like the idea of "local" gifts since we've spent so much time talking about our local things!

Forgot to add before:

We can either do the regional swap with a pre-determined family as long as the other family isn't from the same region. For example, Denise and I shouldn't have each other.

The 3:00 meet at the Promenade sounds like a good idea; that way we aren't adding a bunch of extra time commitments. (Not that we have anything planned.)

Lynn -- when I heard about Cory Lidle, I immediately thought of you. How sad.
