We did the 9:30 WAT today and it was amazing. Well wrth the price. Our tour guides were Amanda (she was from Ohio) and Chapin (she was from Virginia). They were amazing - extremely knowledgable and funny. The suspension bridges are so much fun. We saw the hippos and crocs up close and the riding part is great. The truck stops numerous times along the route to let you take pictures and the guides are explaining things at all times and point out each animal by name. The girrafes were so close you could almost touch them. The lunch they provide was really good! We had two that don't do seafood so when I booked the tour I told them and had no problems. You get a cup w/yogurt, fruit, and granola, a cup with cheese, 3 small pita type breads, a dessert, edible orchard, salmon roll (turkey for non-seafood and other things I can't remember. hand sanitizer wipes readily available. Can't wait for cd -over 200 pictures!! Will fill in more upon return home -using Ipad and not the fastest for me typing. This tour is amazing!!

I agree, highlight of the entire trip. The best part was sitting at the outpost, mrelaxing, casually observing the animals at their own pace. Loved it!

I want to do this SOOOO badly, but we have to wait for our kids to grow. So glad you had fun!

Just booked this for our trip starting in late Sept. and am so EXCITED!!!! Glad to hear your experience was good and am really looking forward to a wonderful experience for us.

We do this in 47 days..... the only thing that makes me nervous is that we've scheduled it for the FIRST day of our trip! I don't want everything to be downhill from there....

Oh, one quick question - I heard there are bathrooms near the area where you eat. Are there sinks in those bathrooms so you can properly wash your hands? Hand sanitizer just doesn't do it for me..... thanks!

We went over the weekend and I can verify that there is a men and women stall each with a sink and soap. I tried the hand sanitizer but it felt sticky and weird so I had to wash my hands!

The food was yummy and we are both still feeling fine. I noticed they were no longer offering yogurt.

Here is a slightly out of focus photo of the women's bathroom.

we did have yogurt today -in both the seafood and non-seafood. We had a cup
of yogurt with granola and berries, a cup of bree cheese w/apricot, a cup of fruit salad -no melon though. The second tier had three small pita type bread, prosotto(don't know correct spelling) in a cup, a cup with the dessert, and a cup with salmon and cream cheese rolls (non-seafood had turkey and cream cheese rolls). The food was really really good. Since it was hot we were given really cold towels to put around our necks while in the jeep part. They did keep stressing hand sanitizer and washing hands when we were at the eating/bathroom station. The bathrooms/snack area is about two hours into the tour (at least itbwas for us today). Loved how everyone just stopped to watch as you walk from the check-in part to the tour start with your vest and equipment on. Would do this again. Our tour was $189 plus tax. They are offering a discout forbtour after 12:45 through the end of Aug amd maybe into Sept. since it is so warm. It was hot for our tour cannot imagine being out there in the real heat of the day. Well off to play Fantasia Mini-golf.

That is neat that it changes daily. Let's see our top tier was fruit, dried meat, and cold curry chicken salad (yum!!). Bottom tier was salmon roll, spiced shrimp, and hummus with small pitas.

We went during the dreaded heat of the day for $139 + tax. It honestly wasn't that bad since we live here and are used to the heat.

We also did the undiscovered future world tour this weekend and loved it! Our tour guide, Justin, was great!! I almost liked that one better than the Wild Africa Trek! Highly recommended!!

We did the 9:30 tour July 23rd late July (myself and 8yr old DD) and loved it. My DD had a bird phobia so there was 1 part that was rather interesting :scared: I think it was $189 per person and I thought it was worth every penny. We would gladly do the tour again and love to take the grandparents with us when we return to Disney :thumbsup2

VERY excited-----booked an 8am tour for our upcoming vacation. We always try to do something 'different'-----and I like planning a surprise or two during our trip. . . In fact, my husband said "SURPRISE ME"! He won't even let me TELL him what I came up with! (I booked the Trek and 3D Dessert Party!)

OK. . .here's my question. For the 8am tour (and AK has Early Morning Hours the day we are going)------is there a check in at the front gate? . . .or do we meet up elsewhere (Dawa Bar area or somewhere else in Harambe?)

I probably should have asked when I had the CM on the phone. . .oops.

I've been in training for this tour for 4 months, 74 days to go and another 12 lbs and I'll be fine (have lost about 40 lbs since booking it). My daughter is 8 and was super excited she made the age cut off, no one else wanted to go with her so the thought of disappointing her is really keeping me focused on the weight loss (and knowing a CM is going to put me on a scale).

I'm so excited I can't wait!

I think the first tour of the day still checks in at the front gate. You will love it! :thumbsup2
