Can someone please tell me how to hook up Rock Band for wii? My DH says there are not enough USB ports to hook up both the drums and the mic. The guitar is wireless. DS can't figure it out either!!!

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I have no idea, but I'm buying Rock Band for my Wii tomorrow, so I'm curious to hear the answer as well!

There are two USB ports (not one) in the back of the Wii. We just hooked up the band kit for Guitar Hero World Tour, so I'm assuming Rock Band will use the same ports. In order to get the microphone working, you have to use a wii-mote to activate it. The directions were not clear, so DH googled the question and figured it out from there.

Do you have to have a separate adapter? Do you plug the mic into the wii-mote somewhere? How did you google it? Everyone here is getting really frustrated!

I asked DH again and apologize for my incorrect answer the first time. I misunderstood my DH. He said there is only one USB port for the mic. The drums work off of the wii-mote. He said the drums use a wii-mote, the guitar uses a wii-mote, and the microphone plugs into the USB port (in back of the Wii), but you have to have one extra wii-mote to activate the microphone. So, you need three wii-motes total if you are going to use all three things (mic, drums, guitar). DH said he found the directions on yahooanswers.com

Do you have wireless drums and guitar? Sorry for all of the questions. I think I am going to pull my hair out!

I'm no expert. We got the Rock Band Bundle Special Edition today and it came with a USB adapter that gives you 5 ports. We have 6 remotes, but the only way we could get the third and forth instruments to be recognized was with the adapter.

Thanks guys but I am not finding any adapter in the box. I guess we will be out buying one tomorrow.

Guess What!!! Found it! There is a USB hub. DH just completely missed it in the box. Thanks for all of your help.

I bought the Beatles Rock Band Special Value Edition and yes, on the back of my Wii, there are two USB ports. Into one, I must plug the black, square hub. That hub has NO USB ports ~ I have inspected the top and bottom, as well as all 4 sides.. nothing!

Ok.. so now I have the wireless hub hooked up and can play the guitar.

Next, to my dismay, I found that the microphone is NOT wireless and there is nothing in the instructions, whatsoever! After a few calls, I found a friend who has a Rock Band set and he said there are 2 hubs; one with 2 ports and one with no ports and that I need to plug the hub with ports into the console and the one without ports into one of the ports on the first hub. I just listened..confused.

Since I wasn't hooking up the drums and now know that the hub goes into the console, I pulled out the console to find that there are two USB ports! I plugged the mic into one USB port and the hub into the other. Cool! I sang for hours!

I hadn't bothered with the drums cuz I live in an apartment and don't want the neighbors complaining about the clacking I remembered when watching kids banging away in Best Buy and Target, but I have kids over tonight and decided to break it out. Again, to my dismay, I now find that the drums are wired, as well! Ok, to where do I stick THAT? Oh yea, into the port on the second hub. WHAT SECOND HUB?? I searched the boxes and there's nothing on the box that says there are two hubs..just one.

Then I thought, thinking outside the box.. maybe there's a port on the drum set that I can plug the mic into, but nope. So I unplugged the mic from the Wii and plugged in the drums. Wired drums into one port; hub into the other port. I'm twirling the cord of the mic! I'm gonna strangle something or someone! :) Kidding, of course..

So the kids are drumming and clacking (ugh), and I want to SING cuz I know all the Beatles songs ~ which is why I bought the dang thing in the first place!

Why did I get the whole set, you ask? Cuz it was cheaper than buying the guitar/game and a separate mic! HELP!!!

Signed, Grandma Can't Sing! but she sure can vent!

Mine came with one with NO ports.. where did you buy your bundle?:confused3

We have Rock Band... Not The Beatles (however I am going to buy the game), but ours came with a hub that has 4 ports. We plug the hub in to the back of the console and we plug the mic and drums into the ports.

I am sorry you are having trouble.

We bought The Beatles Rock Band for the Wii a few weeks ago. It came with the Wii game, one guitar, one microphone w/stand, one set of drums w/ drumsticks and two small, square, white things that plug into the Wii console. I'm not computer savvy, so I don't know what they are called, but I just looked at them and both white squares say Beatles on them. One is plugged into the console and the other is plugged into the one that is plugged into the console. They flash blue lights when plugged in, if that is of any help.:)

The guitar is wireless and so are the drums. The microphone plugs directly into the back of the Wii console, in a slot that is right next to the slot that the white square thing is plugged into. Both slots are located in the back of the console near the top. If any of my kids were here, they could do a much better job of explaining all this.:upsidedow DD25 and DD19 hooked everything up, and I guess they knew what they were doing since everything works fine.

We are all huge Beatles fans and LOVE The Beatles Rock Band. I tend to monopolize the drums because I can't sing and I don't care for the guitar.:rotfl: Sometimes though, I am forced to give up my seat at the drums so others can give them a try.:rotfl:
