My son recently got a Wii and I am looking for some games for him. I am getting sick of spending money on games that end up being way to hard for him. We bought a Spongebob game that he cannot play and a Sonic ring game that is way to hard for his age too. We are looking at the E for everyone but apparently that does not mean it is fun or easy for a 5 year old. What games are out there for a 5 year old to play?

My DS6 & DS11 suggested Mario Kart, Wii Music, Carnival Games Mini Golf and My Sims Kingdom.

My DD's favorite is the stuff on Wii Fit. She is turning 4 in November. If you have a GameStop in your town you can buy games there and return them in a week if you don't like them.

Toy Story Mania is available for the Wii on Tuesday, September 15th. You can pre-order at amazon.

I will second gamestop is an excellent source for games especially used. My DD5 loves Go Deigo Go rescue safari which she plays by herself. Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

My just-turned-4 year old loves Mario Kart and has no trouble playing it.

(And we're anxiously awaiting our pre-ordered Toy Story game!)

Mario Kart, Carnival Games, the Cars game, and we're gettting Toy Story Mania on Tuesday, although the boys don't know that yet.

My 5 yr old DD loves to play the Carnival mini golf and Carnival games. She also has the Littlest Pet Shop game that she loves. And like someone else posted, the Wii Fit games are easy enough for them to play and helps improve their balance. She is the high scorer in the house on the Sports game version of bowling and holds the record for catching fish on Wii Play.
I'm glad to hear Toy Story Mania comes out on Tuesday -- we all loved it at WDW and this can be a great reward for a successful start to soccer season and excelling in Kindergarten.

My 5 year old son loves all the Lego Wii games (Batman, Star Wars & Indiana Jones).

Does your library have Wii games? Ours does and it is a good way for the kids to try out the games before you buy them. We have also rented games from Blockbuster.

Wow - thank you guys so much for all the ideas. I am going to check out gamestop and renting them for sure. I cannot believe that never even occured to me! He does have the Batman Wii game and loves it but he wants to play it 24x7 and I am sick of playing it. LOL

Mine too. He and DD7 love to play it! DS4 also plays Wii Sports and Wii Play. We have Wii Fit, and he'll play a couple of games on it, but he's not into it as much as the others.

My DS is 4 and loves both Go Diego Go games (Safari Rescue and Dinosaur Rescue). I have a friend who has a 3 and 5 year old and they like the Mario Kart game so that is the next one we will buy.

We too have all the Lego games and he loves those a little too much. We have the Resorts Sports and DS5 love that. We rent some games from GameCrazy (attached to Hollywood Video) to see if we like them or if they are too hard to play. We have not bought alot of games because they are too hard. My DS5 also likes Barnyard...single player game, it is cute! I agree with Mario Kart and Wii Fit! Good luck!

Another vote for Mario Kart, Carnival games, & Believe it or not Guitar Hero. (Seriously) They have a mode where you select the guitar controller to just strum when the line lights up. My DD(4) loves to play "Beat it" & "Baracuda" you know "the song from Shrek 3 when the princesses strike back" as she puts it. :cool1:

In addition to the great suggestions already given, my DS5 likes Mario Slugger, most Mario games and the new Wii Sports Resort.

My DS (now 6) likes Wii Sports, Boom Blox, and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games. He is not super-talented at video games, but these he enjoys a lot.

I also recommend renting games first - not only do we save money on games DS can't play well (Lego Star Wars and Mario Galaxy come to mind) but HE comes to that conclusion himself instead of us telling him we think a game might be too hard for him to play.

Another vote for Mario Kart ( I have a 5 y.o. son also). He also loves Wii Sports and Wii Resort Sports.

My DS plays the Diego games, Wii Sports, Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones, and his absolute favorite is Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz. He also plays Warioland Shake It, but his brother helps him with it. We're getting Mario Kart for Christmas. We all got bored with Wii Fit.
