My son will be 5 in February and I am thinking about getting him a Wii for Christmas. He loves video games but I would love to see him up and moving while playing them. Is a Wii good for a kid his age or is it for older kids?

My sister was 4 when she started playing wii bowling with her brothers, and she's a bit behind for kids her age. I think it's a great console for him to grow with, and there are A LOT of kid friendly games. Also, look at the wii fit- it's fun for the whole family.

My DS is 4 and loves, loves, loves playing on the Wii. He bowls, plays Wii Fit, and he has a Diego game that he beat! So, for our family, yes, the Wii is amazingly fun and we would recommend getting it for a 4 y/o. Good luck with your decision.

Wii has become a powerful carrot to dangle. My son isn't even 4 yet and just LOVES it. Carnival games is a lot of fun, really active too.

we have a Wii, and my ds (now 5-1/2) loves it. I think a lot of the games are kid appropriate too (Carnival Games is one of my ds' faves). Just make sure you make the kids wear the remote wrist strap (and adults too, come to think of it!), as I've heard people have had to replace their TV's after a remote got thrown into it. I am always having to remind my ds to put the wrist strap on.

My DD is 2 and loves to play Wii! She loves bowling and tennis! It cracks me up to watch her move around with the controllers!

My 3 year olds love the wii.
It is so funny watching them try and walk the tightrope in the wii fit. I do need to get my girls more kids games, but they love the games we have.

My daughter will be 5 on Friday. She loves the Wii. She has a Princess game that she plays often. She also plays Carnival games and yesterday she had a blast playing Mario Super Sluggers with my son.
It is a great system!

When we bought our wii, our youngest was four and he loved it. It's fun watching him try the yoga poses with me. It's also great for getting the entire family playing together - especially the bowling.:)

We son't have a wii, but my mom and dad bought one, and DD, 4, is really good at bowling, and carnival games. She wants to visit grandma's to play the games.

I love the idea of my child standing, sitting or moving a little in front of a TV. Four is a good age to get them hooked on video games. Myself I don't think it's a good idea.:happytv: :happytv: :happytv: :happytv: This is what you end up with.

My 4 yr old LOVES the Wii! We had a family bowling tournament and she beat us all!!:rotfl2:

Dont' remember asking if people thought video games were good or bad. I was asking about Wii's and if my kid would like them.
