Wii Fit Plus Users: What do you think so far?

I don't wear shoes or socks doing the activities that are on the board, simply because the instructions said not to. I do all the other activities I want to before the run, then put my sneakers on to run. As for unlocking the Around the Island, I think it does it by the pace you go..how steady it is, maybe by time too, though I'm not sure. I do know I did the basic run for probably 4 days before I unlocked the next one, did that one probably 3 days, then the longer one unlocked.

Thank you!
I hadn't thought about just putting my shoes on for the run and everything else barefoot...:confused3 I was doing the island in my barefeet and I really felt it later...
I just finished my third day around the island so maybe tomorrow I'll have something new to see.:disrocks:

Do you like the risers? I saw those and thought about getting those too. I HAVE to get some kind of mat, doing the Biggest Loser's "planks" about killed my knees.

Yes the riser is good more of a cardio when doing steps. I did have to put a board under as to use the risers you have to take the extra carpet feet off the board. Not to big of a deal however.

Thank you!

I did the run for a few days barefoot and my feet were killing me!! It was horrible. They bother me enough just doing the stuff on the board. I'm waiting to see what will open up after the around the island too.. :goodvibes

The run was hurting my feet too - we have a slab foundation in our house so that floor is HARD. It never occured to me to wear shoes for that part. Duh. I'm getting ready to exercise now so I will get my shoes out.

This might be a dumb question but do you need to have wii fit before you get wii fit plus? Thinking of buying a wii bundle pack but will it work if you dont have wii fit? :confused3

I think using the wii fit, to supplement your activity when you cant get to the gym or outside , is a great way to use it. I dont think it can replace the kind of work out you get going to the gym, but for us here in MI it gives us something to keep us moving during the long winter!

You don't need to get the original wii fit. The plus includes all the stuff on the original, PLUS more workouts etc. You do need the wii fit board.

And it's not a dumb question - this stuff gets very confusing :)

I have been asking DH forever to get the Wii and Wii fit... He kept insisting that it "isn't a real workout." Well, I told him it sure beat what I was doing now... NOTHING! And now I've told him about all the reviews here and how everyone LOVES it, so I think I talked him into it! Originally, I wanted the Wii for ME for Christmas. Then we found out my 2 step-kids were getting one from their other grandma (mom's mom). So DH didn't see the point in getting me my own. :sad2: But we have told the kids that although it was given to them, it is a FAMILY thing and ANYONE can play it at any time. They've hardly played it at all. Of course, we only have the Wii sports that it came with and another game (city sports???) and one controller... and they already lost the wii sports... Now I just have to get the Wii plus with balance board and I can take over the Wii!! :cool1: ;)

Okay, we finally broke open our Wii Fit Plus on Sunday and I looooooove it!!!

shhhhh... it's supposed to be my son's but HEY... it's so much fun!:yay:

We challenge each other and for once we can be on the same level, considering he's twice my size and one THIRD my age! :lmao:

We ran 4 miles yesterday... NO WAY would I be able to do that in the snowy streets of Atlanta this weekend! :lmao:

Love the OH when you step on it... the NERVE of that lady! :rolleyes1

We're in a competition for weight loss, too, 7 for me and 10 for him in 2 weeks. He'll beat me but at least I'll try! :thumbsup2

This was a gift for me from my MIL and the 2nd my DH saw how much fun it was he has used it! He loves it ! And we are a bit competitive so every day we compare our "so how did you do" notes and "I beat your top score in xyz" Its so much fun! I love it!!!!!! Your DH will ove it too! I have lost 3lbs in a week. AMAZING!!!! Good luck!!!

I missed my first day yesterday since January. And I haven't been on today...I didn't want to see that unstamped day. LOL

I have only missed 2 days since December 26 but that was because I was sick. I just did day 47 today. I usually do 30 minutes every morning. I dont know if my weight loss and smaller tummy is due more to the Wii Fit or Weight Watchers but something is working. I've lost around 6 pounds and can tell a definate different in how my clothes fit, my energy level, etc.

I am getting a bit tired of the hula hoop though. I seem to get assigned both the regular and the double sided one every day. But I know that's due to what choices I make in the routine.

I love using ours.

I stink when it comes to video games, but for some reason I am great at all of the stuff on Wii, esp the Fit games.

For once, Mom is the queen of everything!

I have top scores in almost all of the Fit games, and that motivates me to do more stuff on it.

I esp like that I can out-hoolahoop DD11, DD24, & DD23!! :lmao:

Who knew Mom still had some hip action?!! :rotfl:

Seriously though, I like having a way to exercise that doesn't hurt my knees and allows me to do it no matter the weather.

I have lost about 4 pounds since I started using it and I don't even do the workout stuff; I just do the games that burn a lot of calories.

Still waiting on mine from Dell. Another backorder until March.

BUT, I have 2 Jillian Michaels DVDs that I've been using for 3 weeks now and I see changes already!! :woohoo: Now just need to add that wii Fit and I'm sure Victoria's Secret will be knocking on my door for their next swim issue cover. :lmao:

I got it a month ago for my bday. The games are better than the first one, but I still don't like how you have the lag time between games. I was hoping for more of a workout, but am getting some and having fun.

I also got the EA active 2 and that game really gives you a good workout, I'm sore sometimes the next day! That one is a little hard to use with all the remotes and bands, though, and sometimes it doesn't pick up everything you are doing.

You don't have to you can set up want you want to do in your "routines" and it will go one right after another. I did that with some yoga and strength training but I don't like that I can't see my score. Sometimes for whatever reason I know I'm not doing it right and when I get the Unranked score that confirms it. But when I do it in my routine and no score comes up I'm not sure if I"m doing it right.

I kinda stopped doing it as religiously as I was when I first got it because I hurt my back and i think doing the hula hoop. I had to wait for it to get better to start up again. Boy am I stiff, my trainer is always telling me that :-(

I REALLY want to get the Wii Fit Plus. I have only the Wii Fit right now but I enjoy it.

For the run (I am not sure if you all already know this but I wanted to pass it on, in case you didn't! ) - at first when I was doing the runs, it would say "don't pass the mii in front of you" - well, recently , when I have stopped listening to that & actually passed the mii at the beginning of the run, it says "Ok, now follow the dog!"....when you do that, the dog takes a different route & not always the same route either. It is so much fun ~!
This happens on both the long lap and the island run. Sometimes the dog takes me along the beach to run and other times through tunnels.

I am not sure if it is the same with the Wii Fit Plus or not but I cannot wait to find out.

Can someone tell me if the Ski Slalom is on the Wii Fit Plus too? I love that game as well as the Penguin game and the tilt tables where you have to get the balls through the holes...the advanced one can be challenging!

Yes, ALL of the original Wii Fit games are on the Plus and then there are other exercises/games that are simply added. If I remember correctly, the new Plus items are a different color than the original items. You'll be glad to know that there is actually a more challenging 'tilt table' game included with the Plus.

And yes, you can pass the Mii leader during the run and follow the pet. But, like you, I was always 'following the rules' before and never passed. Have only passed the Mii one time and don't really remember the pet taking me on a different path, but that is quite possible. Thanks for letting us know that because the run would get a bit boring just doing the same path each night. Good to hear that there is a way to follow different paths.

Hi !

I have experimented with passing the mii - there are different dogs that you can follow on the path, although I have only done it with following the dog at the very beginning of the run.

There is one part where the pet dog will jump over the cliff to the roadway below (you see the other side of this when you do the traditional run and see the dogs all jumping over the cliff edge & running toward you on the roadway) and you automatically follow him over the side. It is amusing.

Glad to know about the tilt tables on the Plus! Thanks!
