DH wants to know what to get me for Christmas. I am thinking about asking for the Wii Fit Plus. Does anyone have this already? Do you enjoy it? Is it a good workout where you break a sweat?

What other games for the balance board are good?

Thanks in advance!!! :goodvibes

You can get all sorts of work out "games" to play/workout to for the Wii fit.. I think they have biggest loser with Jillian... etc...

I am pretty sure I am getting one of these for Christmas too! So I am interested in what others have to say..

Its just an expansion for the regular Wii Fit. There are a couple new yoga poses, a lot of new balance games, and some new aerobic exercises.

Really, the benefit you get from this game comes from your own dedication. My mom has played almost every single day for about 45 minutes for a year. She lost about 10-15 pounds and a couple pants sizes.

However, if you only do it for a week or cannot make yourself commit, I wouldn't bother getting it. Its not one of those 'work out for two weeks and lose a ton of weight' gimmicks.

I got it for Christmas last year and was totally into it for about the first month. Then it started to become "only on weekends", and finally, the battery ran out on the board and I haven't bothered to replace it since this summer. Now it's just sitting there gathering dust. I'm contemplating selling it on eBay.

It's not that I can't stick with exercise, because I run at least 3-4 times a week, but the games and yoga stuff got boring for me after awhile. I unlocked all the mini games and maxed out the top score on most of them, so there wasn't much challenge for me anymore. I haven't bought the new "plus" one, because I feel I'll probably be tired of it after a few weeks. That's my honest opinion of the Wii Fit. Now others may find it a lot more intriguing or challenging, so they may have more motivation to stick with it.

That's really helpful - thanks! I work out daily and I am looking for something fun to add to my routine, but I am wondering if I would actually use it enough to justify the purchase. I like really challenging workouts where I am covered in sweat by the end, so if it's too easy I know I won't really use it if that makes sense.

I was looking into getting this also. I have no experience with either but keep hearing that Wii Active is better than Wii Fit. :confused3

I just got the wii fit plus and love it, but my idea of a workout is a brisk 30 minute walk. this is just something a little bit fun to keep me at least moving a little bit more each day. I do like the balance stuff and hope that will help me with some of my back issues as I cant do much to stregnthen my core muscles. I'd say that I break a true sweat maybe 2 out of 5 times.

I was alittle horrified at my wii age though.

DH and I got the Wii Fit Plus about a month ago. We love it. We do an hour each day, today I did 90 minutes. The games are fun, especially if you have someone to challenge. Our 7yo DD loves it too, so there is a 3 way competition.
I have lost 7 pounds so far, DH has lost 5.
We have it now where we walk or jog on the treadmill with the free run. It is more of a workout than the jog in place workout.

We have the Wii Fit and the Wii Active - I end up sore after Wii Active! I like how they have pre-programed workouts, or you can make your own, and it's continuous - not a lot of stopping and waiting, like the Wii Fit. Plus, there's nothing you have to unlock.

My aunt has the Wii fit and she LOVES it. I have yet to try it and want one for Christmas but she likes it.
