HI all! Well, I wasn't sure that I would be able to get a Wii fit for a family gift this year but................today (Christmas Eve!!!) while in our K Mart I heard a lady ask if they had any and she was told yes. I asked how many and the clerk said 2. I told her I would take the other!! So I didn't purchase any "extras" for it. What will we be able to do with it in the am?? What do you think I need to get on Friday? TIA!!

Also, in Wal Mart today a lady came up to the check out where I was paying for a purchase and said to the clerk that she had heard they had Wii s available and she was told yes and purchased one. What fun for her family!!

I enjoy getting out on Christmas Eve morning and today was quite fun!! I never need essentials but like to get a few last minute gifts and/or stocking stuffers and I'm glad I did!!

Merry Christmas to everyone!!

My biggest question is does the Wii Fit have to be directly in front of the TV to work? Our cocktail table is in front of the TV, so if the Fit won't work off to one side we are in trouble! :scared:

You don't need anything else for the Wii Fit (except the Wii, of course and maybe a couple double A batteries). You need about 7 or so feet of room in front of the tv, some of the exercises has you laying on the floor. The fit is pretty fun (ski jump!:thumbsup2 ) and you will feel the burn.:santa:

For the boxing you will need to attach a nunchuk (sp?). And you will need a bit of room in all 4 directions. I enjoy doing the step sequences and you need a bit of space as you advance.

Have fun! (But be warned that your Mii will plump out if you ever overindulge and put on a few pounds. YIKES!)

Do you have to have the balance board for this to work, and does it come with it? I am thinking about getting one.

You have to buy the main Wii console and the balance board. I do not believe there are any bundle packs with the console and the balance board, but I could be wrong.

If you have a Wii console, the Wii Fit comes with everything you need...even batteries. :thumbsup2

If it doens't work off to the side, just move your Wii remote receiver off to the side too. When I'm doing the weighing part, I move the balance board into the foyer (it's more accurate on a hard floor than on carpet), and I just move the remote receiver so it will sense the balance board. All the activities work fine on carpet, but one day my weight was off by about 8 pounds, so I started putting it on the hard floor just for weighing in.

I just had to pipe in again to say Wii Fit is awesome. It is great fun and it came with everything we needed. We already had the Wii console and extra wiimotes and nunchucks. If you are thinking about getting it I would recommend it!! Everyone at our house loves it!

We've been enjoying ours as well.

Does anyone have the Jillian Michaels Wii program (seems silly calling it a "game")? I saw it at the store and was wondering what people thought of it. I believe it is used with the balance board as well.

high school musical 3 senior year dance! is awesome me (17) and my little brother (11) have been playing it all day todayyy.

and also get
dancing with the stars its cool too you can do dance moves like the mashed potatoes its pretty sweet.

Ours is still wrapped up and sitting by the tree! The kids were so into their gifts and such... I didn't have them open it yet! I wanted to make sure we were going to have time to play it when we do open it!

I am the one who really wanted it, so they probably don't even know or think that it might be that!

I can't wait!

We got one for Christmas. It was for the kids, but you know it's really for me. ;)

We have an older house with an uneven floor, so it takes just a bit of nudging to find a spot that is perfectly even. So most of the time it's not lined up straight-on with the sensor, and it's worked fine. Last night DS had the board facing sideways and it still worked.

Does anyone know really how accurate the scale really is?

And does anyone have any storage suggestions? We're getting quite a collection of Wii junk. All the games and smaller stuff are in baskets, but now we've got the balance board and we also have 2 guitars. They tend to just get left laying around, but they're big so they're hard to hide.

We've had our Wii Fit for a while and love it. I know what you mean about collecting all the "junk" that goes with the Wii. We also have a PS3 that we just got for Christmas so now we have two systems hooked up to one TV and the "junk" is getting out of control! I saw this Rock Star Band storage ottoman, and it has given me the idea to buy a regular storage ottoman to stick all the stuff in. I just need to find one big enough to fit the guitars. We don't have the whole band kit so I don't see the need to buy this one off amazon, but it does look like a great idea.

My DD7 is loving her Wii and Wii Fit. My DH did not know for sure until Christmas Eve that I had bought them. We are all enjoying playing. It definitely gets us up and moving...much better than her sitting there with the PS2.

Is there any other games available that use the balance board?

Can anyone recomend games for a 7 yr old - that us adults will also "like". We would like ones that allow all 3 of us to play together:dance3: . DD just loves that.

We really like Mario Kart, I think 4 people can play at once, if you have 4 Wiimotes.

My kids all (yeah, even COREY!) like Disney's Enchanted Princess Game too, and two people can play if you have two Wiimotes and 2 nunchucks.

ETA: none of those use the balance board though.

We got a Wii Fit for Christmas, too, and have had a ball with it! The first few days (we got it the Sat. before Christmas) we didn't have the little feet attached to the balance board, and our weight was about 10 pounds off - after dh attached those it's exactly what our bathroom scales show. And, yes, the Mii will definitely plump out - when he did that, I "gained" 11 pounds in one day and suddenly she was round!

I love the yoga - never have done it, but it's been a great workout - I've definitely felt it in my abs!

We ended up moving our ottoman into the dining room and shoving our cocktail table against the wall. So the Wii Fit works GREAT but the furniture looks ridiculous. :sad2: We didn't try the Fit with the table where it belongs so I am still not sure if that would work. Once we get the Christmas tree out of there we will figure out a permanent configuration.

So far the scale is dead on accurate.
