Wii console was glowing blue - no disk inside - help?!

Ours was blue, too!!! I had no idea what was going on, but I was late leaving, so I ignored it.

So I noticed this thread title in passing earlier, thought nothing of it. Then tonight ours started glowing blue too. I told DH - the answer is on the DIS! (Isn't the answer to everything here, anyway???)

I am pretty sure Nintendo "pushed" an update to the Wii system software. Ours was glowing blue this morning and DH installed the update. I am not sure what the update was for... I didn't notice any changes, but I bet that's why everyone's is glowing blue at the same time. (I am house sitting my sister's house this week and I noticed theirs is glowing, too.)

I'm not sure what else it did - we haven't downloaded the update yet - but I know it disabled some third party software and mods that homebrewers and hackers use. . . which means most (if not all) Dissers shouldn't notice any real change to their Wii after the update.
