Hi all! I recall reading that I can donate my hair to make wigs for cancer patients. My hair is 30 inches long. I can give up 8 inches or so. Anyone know who I can call? Thanks! Sandra

I donated mine to Locks of Love (www.locksoflove.com) last summer. However they want 10 inches at least. Perhaps 2 more inches would look really good off your 'do?

Locks of Love Locks wants donations to be at least 10 inches. DD sent hers there when she had it cut at WDW.

You can ask your hairdresser, he/she may handle the donation for you. The last time I donated my hair I went to Fantastic Sam's, a chain hair salon type deal. They do the paperwork right there, take your picture before and after and hang it on the wall in the salon (if you want), then send it off to Locks of Love for you. :)

DW & I both did this (Locks of Love)- check around as many places will give you the hairstyle for free if you're donating your hair. We actually helped organize an event around it with a local salon at the local college and were AMAZED with the number of people that turned out.

Just a thank you from a cancer survivor whoose hair has almost grown out enough to NOT need her wig any longer! ! ! Having the wig has allowed me to teach and function this year without a lot of stares and explaining. You'll never know how much it means to me!

Thank you to another cancer survivor that luckily did not loose her hair. I guess I will have to wait some more time cause I don't have 10 inches yet.
