As of this time, there are no premium sites. They will be upgrading certain loops from preferred to premium beginning in July. The premium sites are said to be wider & longer concrete pads with no coquina shell, and will include wi-fi, cable, w/s/e. (Some say free beer - but I don't buy into that one!;) )

There is no free wi-fi for the campsites at FtW. (I don't know about the cabins). There are 3 hot-spots at FtW, but it costs $9.95 for a 24 hour period. The hot-spots are: Check-In, Meadow Trading Post, and somewhere around Crockett's Tavern (although we never did "hit" that spot).

Personally, I think if Motel 6 can offer free wi-fi with a $35/nite hotel room, Disney can offer free wi-fi with a $60+/nite campsite that you are bringing your own accommodations to.

I am using that hotspot right now. The network to connect to at Crockett's is called SMART-SPOT. I am sitting at one of the picnic tables on the porch by the arcade. To use it you must have charging priveleges set up on one of your resort ID cards.

1. Start your computer
2. Connect to the unsecured wifi network called SMART-SPOT
3. Open your browser - it will take you to the pageto enter the last 10 digits of the ID number at the bottom of your resort ID (they show you a picture so you know exactly what numbers to enter).
4. Surf.

Please, please, please: have your antivirus up to date and your firewall turned on. It is an unsecured network.

Currently, if you are in a preferred site, you can check out a cable modem from the front desk and get wired internet at your site for $9.95 a day. By the end of the year ALL campsites at the fort will have cable, and you can check out the cable modem and get the wired internet for $9.95 a day.

I agree it sad that they cant have free wifi that would be the only thing that i could see they need for the sites now when we went in Nov we rented a modem so we could have access at our site we spent more time fighting with it we ended up going to the out post and sitting there to get on they had a tech come out and he said it was our cable we were using to make our connection to our camper and that they were able to get access from our site but for what ever reason we still couldn't and as i said this was hard wired no wireless

I think I would rather not have computer access while there. It's a vacation! I don't want to be in touch with the "real world".

We get FREE Internet at our DVC Resorts. :snooty:

Only teasing.

In the past I have heard that at times its difficult to get the cable modem package because they are already in use. I wonder if they will have more available in the future when the entire campground has cable? What good is a service if it isn't available when you need it?:confused3

hopefully this crappy company gets with the times and puts in wi-fi. they have very few modems that you can use. Like Des said, if Motel 6 can do it, why can't this 100billion dollar company do it?
