Does any one have further information on this on/or from the Magic? What are the fees and it is worth it? Leaving on 12/24 wondering if I should pack the laptop amid the decorations and gifts!

For prices see above post. I got the $100 package on our 7 night. I am not sure about most laptops but mine (new couple weeks ago) doesn't work well in daylight so unless you are fine with being inside to use your time or doing it at night I would stick to a minimal amount of time (I left with over hour and half still on books) I will give it many points for speed altho occassionally it locks up it is still fast when it works. Personally I think it needs to be made available in staterooms (we were on 8 and it still wouldn't connect even on the verandah, not that you could see the screen anyway). Just my opinion.

Is there some way to track your minutes as you go? Does it shut off automatically if you go over your purchased limit?

I assume from the contract that it would just shut down, altho it may ask if you want to purchase a new contract for additional time. When you log off the system it offers a page that you can open and shows you your package and time used/remaining. HTH

Just to be clear I probably screwed up when I got the $100 package. For buisness people and cruise reporters it would probably be appropriate. My goal was to upload our pictures but I never figured out how to do that since mine were all large files. I think it would also be very helpful for researching cruise switches, as happened to us, but since we weren't doing activities ashore it didn't really affect our plans. I have to say I loved the speed of the connection, much faster than this dial up I have at home. Just my views.
