At work we stopped purchasing separate wifi devices as modern phone plans typically include the option. They'd have to call and check, but on AT&T for example it's $10/day as well. If they have an "older" phone plan they may even save money by changing plans.
We'd been grandfathered into a true unlimited, no throttling plan from AT&T that we thought they'd have to pry from our cold dead hands but in the end we realized we really don't use that much data month to month, especially once I stopped commuting to work via train. We saved $60/mo total on our four lines.
