Wifi on board...

Which package do you recommend just to post a few pics and maybe keep in touch with my boys at home (they have iPhones so we could FaceTime via wifi or I message each other)?

My sister is a CM and trust me when I say that 9 times out of 10 FaceTime is an exercise in frustration with constantly freezing and dropped "calls". Better to stick to texting, etc.

Good to know. Unfortunately we won't have a text package until we are on the ground in the USA (coming from Canada) so it'll have to be I messages I'm guessing if we want to keep it "in the package allotment"

I use "text message" to include everything because my iMessages show up in the same place as my text messages.

HoW does the 50MB free if you sign up on the first day work? Do you have to buy a package (100MB, 500MB, etc) to get the 50mb?

No just sign up and it's there.

One per stateroom, the first in the stateroom to sign up, you will see it on the offers if packages.

No need to purchase anything, just sign up first day.

image.jpg Be sure to sign out of the app each time( upper right corner) don't just swipe it closed. or you will use all the free wifi before you even leave port.

Last April we ran into the issue that webpages took up a lot of data because the "full" version was loading as opposed to the mobile version on our iphones and ipads. DCL said that when you are on a cellular signal a mobile version of webpages loads that takes less data, but when you are on the wifi on the ship the "full" version loads. Does anyone know a good way to deal with this?

Depends on the site. some websites a simple m.website.com before the page name will direct to the mobile site. But I didn't know it was based on the type of data connection, I always thought it knew what device you were using and what to show.

I don't think that is true... I only use wifi at home on my iphone and ipad and the websites are always the mobile or tablet version sites unless I manually switch to the full desktop version
