Hey :) I was wondering if there was wifi connections throughout the WDW at the resorts and stuff. I'm staying at ASMu and I hope there is, if not where can I connect? I'm leaving tomorrow and I want to know whether or not to bring stuff for it. Thanks! Also is there anywhere where the WiFi connection is free?

Alright then! Thanks a bunch. Won't bother having my friend take her laptop then if it isn't free. I'll bring the Nintendo DS with the browser and hope I get lucky somewhere :)

How do you use your ds with WiFi - is it to play games with others?

Yep you can play games with others but I also bought the browser which I just put in like it is a game and voila! I am free to browse the internet as I please, though it is a bit hard with the DS but great if I need to check something.

I didn't know I could do this...
What is the card called? Was it expensive? Worthwhile getting?

It's called simply the Nintendo DS Web Browser. You can order it either through GameStop.com, or directly through nintendo.com. Should be $29.99.

GameStop and EBGames stores carry them, but ONLY the DS LITE version. This will NOT work with the original styled DS. If you have an original DS, you must order online through nintendo.com

PLEASE NOTE, though, which version of the Nintendo DS you have! There are two versions of the browser memory expansion (included), one for the DS Lite and one for the original (fatter) DS. The only difference is that the DS Lite version's GameBoy Advance-styled memory cart is too short to fit the original DS' design.

You CAN use the non-Lite version of the browser's memory cart with the Lite, though.

Just keep in mind that the DS is WiFi only, there is no wired connection. You'll need a hotspot. Most wireless routers work fine, and Nintendo also sells a relatively hassle-free USB dongle.

The ONLY free WiFi spot I've heard of at WDW properties is supposedly at the Wide World of Sports. I have not been able to confirm this myself.

Good luck!

Thanks :) I've also heard something about at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride for the new DS game, but I don't know how that works for sure right now :) Either way, bringing my DS is something to do on the plane and it's an added bonus if I can get a few minutes of e-mail checking here and there out of it. I'll find out tonight I guess :D

That feature is seperate from internet access. They likely just have a Download Station set up there for special content for the game. Download Stations work with the DS' local wireless protocol, much like, for example, playing a local multiplayer game on the system.
Download Stations are essentially just special DS systems with a special cart meant to send data to any DSes that connect nearby, so unfortunately you wouldn't be able to access the internet that way.
