We're staying at HNY in Auugust - I know you can pay to have wifi in your room:scared1: but are there any wifi hotspots around in other areas (like the bar;)) or in other hotels/restaurants for a quick e-mail update?

TIA:thumbsup2

Theres free wifi in McDonalds (and immediately outside) and I think possibly in Starbucks as well

I am sure starbucks is paid ..

we are in the DLH and I am seriously toying with paying for wifi .. but its SO expensive .. not like in the US when its $10 a day :/

anyone have any suggestions for being connected - there is no way I am turning the data roaming on on my phone for £8 a mb !!!

Nope. Starbucks and McDonalds are free. I usually take a break during the day and visit one of these places to check my internet life.

For these two spots do you need to make a purchase to know the code or anything? Or can you just sit outside and use it?

Has anyone tried using a 3G card (PAYG or prepaid) - did it work OK? I know colleagues who use them travelling complain they don't always work, so i don't want to buy one if I can get something free;)

I would assume 3G sticks are subject to roaming charges, which could be kinda hefty, it's not a risk I would take personally.

I'm pretty sure I've used McDonald's in the past, does Starbucks require a starbucks account login? I forget

Tried and tested today - Free wifi without needing to buy anything and/or get a password at Starbucks and EoS :thumbsup2

The signal isn't great but it's enough and it's free :)

That's great Carrie thanks for the update. Will probably use the wifi then to use Skype so my cousin can call her mam at home in June instead of using my phone to ring!
