Hello,
We will be in the world in October and my wife likes to dress up for dinner. We already have reservations for QV room one night. I could use some suggestions for other dining options that require at least a dinner jacket.

Above poster is correct, but that doesn't mean you can't dress up. Who cares what the dress code is? I'm a firm believer that it is always better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Some restaurants where the decor lends itself to dressier clothes ( in my opinion) include: Yachtsmen, Flyning Fish, California Grill, Monsieur Paul, and Shula's Steakhouse .

None other than V&A require a dinner jacket, but you can certainly wear a dinner jacket (and she can dress accordingly) at any of the following:

California Grill
Narcoosees
Citricos
Jiko
Artists Point
Yachtsman
...essentially any of the signature restaurants at the resorts.

There will absolutely be folks in shorts and T shirts at all of these places. And there will be people more dressed up - and everything in between. It's a lot like being on a cruise these days - it may be formal night, but formal attire is not required so the guy in the tux is next to the guy in a T shirt. If it will make you uncomfortable to be dressed up when others may not be, then you may want to look for offsite dining options, or dress down a bit.

I say dress for yourself. That's what we do. :)

All personal opinion - I'm not right, no one else is wrong....

Good for your WONDERFUL wife :).

You, and your lovely wife, may dress to attend ANY Signature Restaurant. None of this would be YOUR issue - it would be the issue of the RESTAURANT. ALL, in theory, have a dress code. MANY diverge on how that code is enforced. SEVERAL ignore it. But that means nothing....

YOU will be the best dressed respected folks in ANY of these :). You might even get a few "other" patrons to think about all this. If I can share a list of SIGS that tend to do BETTER with what should be a uniform SIG dress code?

1) V&A, and Israel is SERIOUS. I LOVE this guy :).
2) Citrico's - but you will see people that are not serious (PNS).
3) Shula's at the Dolphin. There will be PNS.
4) California Grill - but MANY PNS.

Again - all personal opinion- I'm not right, no one else is wrong.... Please, dress for dinner. My Wife and I do. WE don't care if no one else HAS. We do this for OURSELVES, hope to get OTHERS to understand that this is a courtesy to the people around you, and always know that we have not somehow offended another lovely family by showing up looking like a BUM. JUST us... we don't want to do that :). WE would feel bad for having done so.....

Again - All personal opinion - I'm not right, no one else is wrong.... and YOU Sir, have a wonderful Wife :).

WHAT is with all the WEIRD capital LETTERS? And WHO comes up with an ACRONYM to describe the way people DRESS? :)

Judging others by their appearance says far more about you than it does about the people being judged. :)

It is not discourteous to dress in casual clothing when there is no dress code, and people merely pretend that there is. :)

Dress the way you wish but do not hold others to a standard that is not required. :)

It's not required, but the Chef's Tasting at Flying Fish is a good option to dress up for. They just re-opened so no idea on details of the Chef's tasting since re-opening but it may well be worth investigating.

Dress up as much or as little as you like in any spot not named Victoria&Alberts. That's the only spot with a dress code. Have fun and enjoy your meal but don't be surprised if PNS's like myself are seating next to you. It's not contagious I promise.

Not just WDW, but FL in general is a very casual place because of the weather and reputation as a resort destination.

Whereas I was once asked to put a coat on to eat breakfast in my hotel in NYC (I had on a suit with tie, but left the jacket in my room to go have breakfast) I've been at the best restaurants in the best hotels in FL in dress shorts, a collared shirt and no socks with my loafers. It is just the way it is.

If you want better dressed people, go eat at the Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria and Hyatt Grand Cypress.

Although not required I agree that dressing up would not be inappropriate at any of the resort signatures.

I am a big PNS. I'm at disney for cripes' sake on vacation. That is NOT a place for seriousness!

I like to dress up a bit for certain restaurants. I NEVER wear tee shirts to a signature. At least a collared shirt and dress style shorts. Yachtsman/Shula's is slacks and possible a jacket.

I would say better to be PNS than have PMS.

I think that that you dresses for your own comfort, whatever that happens to be. We tend to dress nicely for dinner, no matter where we dine, but that is for us. We have a few dressier outfits for dinner, but the truth is that my DSIL will wear nice shorts and a dress sport shirt. My DH will have a polo style shirt most of the time, but I always pack 2 dress shirts. He wears one to CG and maybe one other sig. The girls usually wear pretty sundresses or dress capris.

I can honestly say I have never checked out my fellow diners to insect their clothing, and hope no one has done that to me. THis is a casual resort.
