I'm just wondering if anyone has gone to the Wide World of Sports Complex. I don't hear a lot about it but my bf is a baseball nut and I think he would enjoy it. Could anyone give me more information on what there is to do there and how much it costs? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

there's not much to do there.

I hear the restaurant is good but have not eaten there.

We went over there last August 'cause we were doing the Summer Vacation Pin Event, but when we got there the only places open were the gift shop and the restaurant.

So it's basically only good to go there for certain events? I heard something about participating in batting practice. Does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know when you're going, and I haven't been to it myself, but I believe the Braves play their spring training games there. Admission to those games is seperate. If you are going in March, the Astros also have their spring training right in Kissimmee. We are going to our first spring training games in a week and a half, and I am really looking forward to it - I have a real baseball itch this year.

We had UPH tickets, and I have 2 boys (8 & 9), and a daughter (6).

We ate at the All Star Cafe for lunch (good) then went to the NFL experience -- it's in a tent on the property. This is only open when there is an activity going on there (in our case, a cheerleading competition).

My boys loved it -- they have a NFL obstacle course that they can run and are timed; a goal post for punting; one of those things that shoots out a football so they can run a down and in and catch a pass; basketball courts; a pitching station (they clock how fast you can pitch); hockey; soccer; table tennis; a playground; etc.

It was a nice way to spend an afternoon (I think we did the am at MGM since that's where we would catch the bus to the sports complex).

The Atlanta Braves have training camp there as well.

I'm not sure I would have spent the $ for the whole family to go over there for only a few hours -- that's why I loved the UPH! We hit WWS once, DisneyQuest and Blizzard Beach 2X ea; and the parks for a short time each day.

Have a good trip!

We have been there many times and love it:bounce:
But we love the baseball(especially my Atlanta Braves) We are always able to get lots of autographs when we go, the players are much more laid back and are willing to "stop & chat". I think the complex is beautiful. We really just go during Spring Training and there is always things going on out there besides the Braves. The gift shops are cool and so is the restaurant.
