Wide bodies in Disney

I have been looking throughout the posts here and haven’t been able to find answer to my DH only Disney World question. He is a large guy a little on the pooh sized but he is very broad and has felt the squeeze of the over the shoulder rides in our hometown park. Will he have any trouble WDW? He is built more like a linebacker so you can imagine why he is worried. We are traveling with our two DS 4 years and 17 months this is the families first trip.

but DH and I are a little oversized too

We went on just about everything with no problems. the CM's are helpful at directing you to a more comfortable seat if there is one on a ride. The hardest part to me (6' tall) was leg room on some things. But nothing that was so uncomfortable that we wouldn't ride it again. Go, Enjoy. Disney is POOH friendly.

Uhhh, you meant "pooh" sized, right??? Sorry, that just made me LOL! Not making fun at all (as I'm definitely not "piglet" sized myself!).

You have to love those type-O. Now that you pointed it out I too LOL

The 1st time I went I was over 300 lbs and 6ft tall.
I had to suck in on a few rides but, I never ever felt
out of place or did I think I would not fit. I had a ball
and rode then all.

My DH is also big. He has really wide shoulders. The only problem we ever had at WDW was Virtual Space Mountain at Disney Quest. HTH

I would politely describe myself as being beyond Pooh sized and maybe more Baloo sized (hehe) and had very few problems at any of the parks. I think that the above mentioned website is invaluable! The only ride I had a big problem with was Space Mountain. As far as everything else goes, my biggest advice (which has been said before) is to pull out the seatbelt before you sit so it is easier to connect. Another huge lesson I learned was do not assume you won't fit because you could miss out on something great! And when I did not fit, the CMs were great and gave me a pass to enter any other attraction in the Fast Pass line. Not sure if that is still done but it was nice.

I am another one who can attest that WDW is very Pooh Friendly. I never had any trouble with any of the rides there even at my heaviest. Depending on how he is big, some of the rides at Universal can be a problem.

I was a big guy the last two visits at WDW.. The only problem I had was trying to purchase t-shirts in my size at the time. Anything else was no problem ,except for wearing down alot easier. The good thing is I have since then lost 140lbs having the GAstric bypass and cant wait to go back in april and not be tired and only have to look for an xlt-shirt now. Not 4x..

My wife and I are both pooh shaped and sized. I'm delighted to say that we don't feel particularly out of place most places in WDW.

I too am Pooh sized, bigger than Pooh size...LOL And I have never had a problem on a single ride! Last trip we were sitting outside Splash Mountain by the fast pass entrance waiting for our time and enjoying the scenery and I began talking to a another pooh sized lady next to me. I asked her why she was waiting for her children instead of riding and she said she didn't think she could because she was too big to ride rides at her local park. I explained that I could ride EVERYTHING at Disney and we were the same size so there is no reason to NOT ride! She was so happy to hear that she could ride. I guess she didn't want to even try and perhaps be embarrassed. I hope that she rode with her children the rest of their trip.

My Dh also had a hard time with some of the roller coasters fitting down over his shoulders at US. HTH
