I am looking for the best place to buy Wicked TIckets in NYC for Jan 2-6. Should I just bite the bullet and buy them directly from ticketmaster? :confused3

Wicked isn't a show that gets deals or discounts very often if at all, so Ticketmaster or the box office is probably going to be your best bet.

You can try:

BroadwayBox.com
Playbill.com

and see if you can get discounts or tix that way.

Also, once you're in NY, you can try the TKTS booth in Times Square OR you can try the "lottery" for tix right at the theater. Here's a link for that info:

A lot of people show up for the lottery but you may get lucky! I know my daughter and I got lucky twice for Wicked tickets! The lottery tix are only $26 each and we had excellent seats both times!

It was a GREAT show!!! You're going to love it!

Here is my trick to saving some money! For some reason, the very end seats in the first 10 rows or so are heavily discounted. It is just the last 2 seats on each end. they call them restricted view however; I have sat in them and the only thing we determined you could not see was if something was moving up the center of the stage from the back. Otherwise, they are great seats!

If you go direct to Tm, you can roll over the venue to see available seats. You can see the price diff between seat 1/2 and then 3, it is 80$ versus 130$ (or something close to that).

The show is AMAZING!!!

They also do a lottery for 25$ tix the day of however; there is normally a couple hundred people there.

Wicked is 100 times better than Disneys Oz, though I did like Milas Kunis in Oz.

DITTO!

My dd and I went to New York in September & saw Wicked (which was awesome!). We bought Orchestra - Row J - Seats 28 & 30 ( they're together, just numbered weird) for $144 ( for both). I would highly recommend them. They were great for the price, we bought them through Ticketmaster.

If you work for a larger company, then check to see if you have access to discounted tickets through something like ticketsatwork. That's how we bought our discounted tickets.

Oh! Something else I forgot was that AT THE BOX OFFICE of Wicked, you can sometimes get same-day tickets if there are cancellations. You may get lucky since it's after the holidays!

I got very lucky at Young Frankenstein this way. The Orchestra was completely sold out for weeks in advance. I had a discount code and was at the box office trying to get seats and had resigned myself to having to get mezz or balcony seating. The woman checked one last time and just as she was checking, there was a cancellation!! Not only were they Orch seats but they were PERFECT Orch seats and directly behind the ones we originally wanted! Sometimes, you just get lucky!

I just can't see paying full price for anything, especially B'way shows when they're so expensive!!!!

Thanks for mentioning this, we bought some Disney tickets from here this year, but did not look at the other things they offer. May come in handy for Christmas gifts.
