Why?

Oh, yeah, like every single single person that stays in the blasted hotel is going to have a wild sex orgy just because they can!!! Well, besides Wally that is. ;) But are they so closed minded that that's what they think we do ALL DAY LONG!!! I mean come on, once a week is hard enough, let alone everyday of the year, I need a vacation too you know! ;)

I was going to do that too, but I can't figure out what website it is. I'm not that technologically advanced you know. I'm lucky I know how to get to here! LOL.

You're horrible. Now I have to register with yet another website just so I can post a snarky reply!!! :rotfl:

i was going to do the same thing...LOL
And I couldn't figure it out either...:lmao:

Orlando and Orange county do have laws against discrimination based on sexual identity. Kissimmee, however is in Osceola County. In Osceola County the kids still get a day out of school every year for the county rodeo.

I'm sorry, I spoke before I did my research. I stand corrected. :thumbsup2

But there are still MANY states/municipalities where it is completely legal and acceptable to discrimiate on the basis of sexual orientation.

And I thought it was bad here because the schools shut down for the 1st day of deer!!

Hmmm... I wonder what they would do if a gay male couple and a lesbian couple rented it together?

LOOK - I got people! ::yes::

I've not been to the linked place in the first post, but if the rental is in Indian River, you DON'T want to be there. EEEEYEYEYYYYYYUUUUUUUCK!

Discrimination is boundless, and endless. :confused3

I am trying to figure out if this is a gay issue or if this is a 'I don't want parties' issue.

Say my mom, me and my 2 sisters wanted to rent it....I almost want to e-mail and ask. I can see that they might not want a fraternity, or a sorority to rent it, or party type groups (but they would be better off to say no one under 25 or something).

Anybody e-mail to try and find out. Ask nicely and pretend you are a mother/daughters group.

I emailed them and adked the about my mother, 2 aunts, and sister coming down for a retreat to Disney. We'll see what they say. LOL.

Great! Can't wait to hear what they have to say! IMO- this idea of stopping parties can be done by age mainly...just make it something like no one under 23 allowed, unless a married couple or something.

I too wonder if Shrek and I checked in, would it be OK?

Or are they only banning "hen and stag" parties? (Love that term by the way, they are bachelor or bachelorette parties over here!)

Hmmm, I may have to make a phone call in the morning.....

:lmao: Sorry - I didn't think about the term hen and stag parties...:thumbsup2

I too would be interested to find out if they will 'allow' asmit4's party. I don't know about in the states but in the UK it is becoming very popular for hen and stag parties to be mini vacations involving copious amounts of booze and, seemingly, a fair amount of bad behaviour. As i said before it is this kind of behaviour that puts property owners off renting to single sex parties.

I wonder if the property owner is from the UK? :confused3

I don't know if the owners are British but they seem to cater to Brits by the language used on the website.

The anti-discrimination laws in Florida (and many other states for that matter) don't include sexual orientation.
But Federal Fair Housing law does include gender as a protected class. The prohibition as written disallows any single-gender rental party, and so I suspect that it violates the Fair Housing statutes. You also can't base it on familial status, so the oft-seen "Families Only" is also illegal.

Ironically, if it excluded only gay men or lesbians it would be perfectly legal. Sad, isn't it? :(

It is a UK owner - I checked the 'contact us' part of the website. As I said before this 'clause' is very commonly used in the UK to avoid all female or all male parties having....well...PARTIES! I honestly, genuinely don't think this is an 'anti-gay' clause. :confused3
