Every time there is an election total strangers start telling other strangers to vote. Is anybody else getting as sick of this as I am?
Even if you aren't sick of this unasked for advice yet, it doesn't make any sense. Every time someone else votes, they make my vote less important. They also make your vote less important. There are hundreds of millions of people who live in this country. My vote already hardly means anything. The logical thing to do is tell people not to vote. That way those of us who do vote get to have more say over what's going on. The fewer who vote, the more powerful I become.
So please question whether you need to go through all that hassle tomorrow. You can buy into all that nonsense about how voting is the patriotic duty of a free people. You can fall for those who argue that voting not only gives you a say in how you are governed but confirms that democracy is the bedrock of our political system. But wouldn't you rather stay home and watch old reruns of Laverne and Shirley?
Stay home and let me do the voting for all of us. My opinions are probably better than yours anyway. Feel comfortable knowing I'm the one who is doing the deciding.
