Why would check in require the front desk?

Friend on the way to Coronado springs right now. She got an email telling her to go to the front desk for her room assignment, as opposed to being given a room number to skip the front desk. She’s very concerned about why this may be. Any ideas?

As others have said, not everyone that does Online Check In is able to Bypass The Front Desk. How they decide who gets to and who doesn't is impossible to figure out.

This happened to us a few weeks ago. It was because our magicbands had to be re-keyed to our room door for some reason. Seemed to happen to numerous people the same day. Done very quickly!

Did she book the room using a discount that requires showing some sort of ID, like the military discount or something?

We use the military discount and have never been able to skip the front desk because we have to present our military ID upon arrival.

Nope. I’ve never gotten a room ready text apart from last year, but that was after we’d stopped in at the front desk in hopes of getting a room early (we were on dme at about 7am).

No, just a normal magic your way package. They got checked in fine.

Nope. I’ve never gotten a room ready text apart from last year, but that was after we’d stopped in at the front desk in hopes of getting a room early (we were on dme at about 7am).

And I haven’t not gotten a text. Even at 8:30 am. Lol
