I spent all night at home alone thinking I was going to be murdered for sure! Every noise I heard was someone outside. Every creak was someone coming up the stairs to gut me. The phone rang and I just about had a heart attack!

WHY WHY WHY, do you post twice...LOL JK!!!

I don't read Patterson, but my hubby loves him. After your post, maybe I need to read one of his books!!
Which one did you read???
What is your favorite??
My hubby is gone hunting this weekend, I bet it wouldn't be a great time to start. being by myself... LOL

Start w/ the Alex Cross series - they're his best:

What a cool website!!!!

Okay, if I have seen Kiss the Girls Movie and Along Came a Spider movie...will I be bored in those books???
Or should I start with Jack and Jill instead??

Oops! Did I post twice? Let me go look. :flower:

I just finished "Fourth of July". It was pretty good.

I read them so quickly because I just HAVE to know!

:teeth:

Forgive me, but I feel I have some right to brag here. My father and James Patterson are best friends. They went to school together and have been friends since. My father is even in a few of his books.....well, his name is- Detective Bobby Hatfield. My nephew and some other relatives are in the books, too. I asked to be in one, but it wouldn't make sense to have two Hatfields in the books, unless it was some small part. It wouldbe pretty cool, though.

Mickey, that is so cool! It would be great if you were in one of his books, but...well...make sure you don't get gutted.

Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

I LOVE James Patterson also and think his Alex Cross books are FAB!!!

Mickey76 ~ That is soooo cool!

Oh, definitely read the books, even if you've seen the movies. The books are so much better & the movies leave too much stuff out

I agree with the Alex Cross books being his best, but lately I've lost interest in his work  Hopefully things will pick up a bit with the new book!

The Wolf is the worst! I mean the best! Depending on if you are home alone at night or not. Scarey stuff but man, you can not put it down! ;)

I LOVE Patterson!!! The only accusation I have w/ his books is they are VERY hard to put down :)

Micky, that is too cool :sunny: I prefer the books that Patterson writes on his own, without another author. He annoys me when he co-authors...it's like he has made enough money and now does it as a hobby.

That is cool! :goodvibes Patterson is one of my favorite authors but he sure has caused me to lose a lot of sleep. I can't put his books down when I start a new one....I keep saying just one more chapter, one more chapter...and next thing I know, it's 3 am! :faint:

I love his books and mostly follow the Alex Cross series as well but I never get creeped out by him. A piece of advice for those of you who find Patterson's stuff creepy, don't EVER, EVER, try to read Dean Koontz at home alone at night. Heck, I can't read his stuff in the middle of the day with everyone home, lol.

I actually had to stop reading Patricia Cornwall books because of this. DH does hvac service and often has to do emergency calls middle of the night. For a time when we were younger he also had a part time late night job. Sometimes he would take my sons camping. I could not sleep. I would check every inch of the house and then sit there afraid because I didn't look behind the drapes or in the bathtub. I really got bad with this.
BTW - dh is home at night now and i've picked up her books. her recent stuff is not that good.

I am the same with Koontz, I love his books, but they really freak me out! The one with the monkeys (I can't remember the title) was the worst for me!

I love James Patterson, and even if you have seen the movies, the books are so much better! I couldn't believe they chose Morgan Freeman to play Alex Cross, I love Morgan Freeman but he is way too old!

I have only read 3 by James Patterson. The 2 sweet books (Sam's Letters To Jennifer and Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas) and Beach House. Beach House didn't scare me but I hated the last few chapters. My sister was telling me how disturbing she found Kiss The Girls so I will not read it.
I think it is cool about Mickey76's dad being friends with him. My favorite thing about him is those very short chapters!! It makes someone (who reads as slow as I do) feel like they ae really accomplishing a lot! :)

That's funny! I read The Jester last weekend and just finished reading 2nd Chance about 2 hours ago. I already have 3rd Degree sitting on my computer desk waiting to go. It is the womens murder club with Lindsey Boxer as the main character. I do love the Alex Cross series as well.
