To be honest the icee’s are not advertised at all. The fact is the sign for selling refillable mugs does not even mention the icee's. Thus one could say that they are not even intended for use with the mugs at all.

Ah. My mistake. I saw icees listed under the Fountain Drink Choices for Pop (on Allearsnet) so I assumed it was included. Thanks for the info.

Icees are included with your mug refills at Pop. I was there 6/5-6/11 & there were 2 icee machines. One of them was always not working. Apple Juice is also included at Pop for the refills.

As far as op commenting on milk at the AS's..... that milk is for coffee not for cup refills which is why it is near the hot cocco & coffee machines.
I would also like to comment on the noise at Pop that week, the pool at night was very loud. We requested 50's facing the lake, it is quiet down that end. I have stayed at Pop twice & each time I requested (and have gotten) that. What got me "bugged" at Pop last week was for the first 3 mornings I woke up, there were bug bites on my legs. Finally I went to the front desk & they switched my room. That night my bites were so bad I had to go to the first aide at MK. The bites had made my legs swell up around the bite areas. It was hard & hot to touch. I had to end up having EMT look at me (as per front desk suggestion & free of charge to me). They confirmed they were bites but not sure of what kind. They said that I could go to the ER or try taking Benadryl. I took the Benadryl. The night manager had a CM bring it to my (new) room for me. The next morning, no new bug bites. I am not sure if they were bed bugs or fleas. Yes, I said fleas. The woman at the front desk had thought that was it due to the fact they do allow service dogs in the rooms. What ever it was, I will never know. All I know is that I am the only one that slept in that bed & I was the only one that had bites. I know it happened during the night because I woke up scratching my legs several times throughout the night (each night). I will still stay at Pop again. That could have happened at any resort. The CM's could not have been nicer to me.

These are included when they are available...but as far as I know, they are not promised. The same drinks are not always available..at least they have not been on the several occasions we have stayed there. As I mentioned..they teased my poor hubby with the rootbear on our first visit, and replaced it with apple juice.

We got bit up too..when we were at Disney in May. We got bit last year at this time too. I brought bug spray this time, but it didn't seem to help. I couldn't tell where I got bit (we were at POR), but I suspect it was near the pool, when I was sitting near the foilage (and prob had washed off the bug spray). I woke up in the middle of the night (hubby was ok the first night..he didn't get bit until the last day), itching. I had antibiotic cream and an antihistimine. The bugs looked like underfed fly's. I was told last year, on this board, that those bugs lay eggs under your skin. I don't know if it was true, but the area where I got bit, swelled and like you, got rock hard. I had a temp when I got home. The itching was terrible...and it took almost 10 days for everything to get back to normal. I'll be doubling up on the bug spray if we go in May again.

When I made a delivery earlier this week to Port Orleans Riverside, there was a huge line of people reaching out of the area where you check in/out out and around the entrance area. There must have been 40 people with bags waiting in a line. At first, I thought they were waiting to get to the check in/out desk. They weren't. They were waiting to get to the ME desk. It sound like this is a problem at all of the resorts.

To the op,

I am so sorry that your experience at the Pop was not a good one for you!!!

I'm sending lots of Pixie Dust your way. Please go back SOON and try a different resort!!! Hopefully your stay at your next Disney Resort will be truely magical.

P.S.
Both of the Princesses in your picture are beautiful!!! :sunny:

yikes that bothers me!!! I was planning on using ME but if it is a problem I will not wait forever...I will call a taxi or car service for a one way trip if I have to...thanks for the heads up!! :sunny:

I read a post a little while ago that said when you call the front desk you may be answered by a call center and not the actual front desk. Getting wrong answers from the call center doesn't suprise me.

I did a spit stay in May spending two nights at POP, five nights at BWV, then back to POP for the last two nights. I had a wonderful time at POP. The night before I was to switch to BWV I called and asked where I needed to take my bags the next morning to get them moved to BWV and was told to just call down in the morning, tell them my bags were ready and that they needed to be moved to BWV. I asked the CM the next morning if I needed to be in the room and was told no, to go off to the parks, enjoy myself, and my bags would be at BWV's luggage services that afternoon. When I left BWV to go back to POP, I had to be in the room at BWV before they would come get my bags. I went over to POP to check back in and to tell them my luggage would be on it's way. The CM told me it would be in my room waiting for me when I got back from the park. Sure enough it was. When I got ready to check out I called the night before and was told that either I could take my bags down the next morning to the DME area, get my boarding pass, and they would store my luggage or I could just leave it in my room, call them to tell them it needed to go to DME, and I could get my boarding pass anytime within 12 hours of my flight at the DME desk. I chose to take my bags down early the next morning and was there when they opened up first in line. When I got back from the parks and was waiting for the 3:00 bus I saw ALOT of people frantically trying to check-in at the last minute and getting angry because there was a long line. Most wound up not being able to check their baggage and had to carry it with them on the bus, which made them angry. Well excuse me, but if you wait until the last minute what do you expect?

As far as the Icee machine it was working fine during the time I was there. I don't drink milk, so don't recall seeing any.

From Allearsnet:

"The refills are available from the beverage dispensers and usually include: coffee, sodas, ice tea, and hot chocolate. "

I do not think milk is suppose to be included so that might be why it was not available?

Hi Lisa!

Sorry to hear you had a horrible time at Pop...

we have stayed there twice and we really enjoy it, but I also think it has been the price that has led us there...I do think that the walls are thin, but I think that they are thin at all the value resorts, heck even at AKL I could hear the toliets flush!! I think that the food courts are crazy at all the value resorts, to me the only time the food courts are manageable are off times...we don't do mugs so that really isn't an issue for us....same with the luggage situation, we have a car so we can just load all our stuff up.....

Your bites sound like mine were. I am sure mine were from the bed. I was bit nearly up to my (excuse me for saying it but..) underwear line & I do not wear shorts that short, nor did I put on a bathing suit. The only time I was uncoverd was sleeping in a night gown. I had bug spray and it didn't stop what ever got me. In fact, once bit & applying the spray made my bites sting ...ouch.. and thanks for the heads up on the icee's. I stayed there in Feb & they had them, they were there this trip...just figured they would always have them. I can see the machine not working because it really doesn't have time to refreeze with all the kids getting them. I know my daughter is very guilty of that :rotfl: The icee's were the reason she wanted to stay at Pop.

Geez, let it go! My hubbie likes his coffee mostly milk, with just a nodding acquaintance with the actual coffee pot. Would he be doing wrong to use the milk in a manner uneconomical and unbefitting a proper resort guest? What on earth is the difference? Where does one draw the line?
:rotfl: I agree!

I don't. I can't believe I'm jumping into a refillable cup debate, but here goes. A reasonable person knows the difference between filling a todler's cup with milk all day and having a coffee that has a lot of milk in it.

Where do you draw the line? Apparently you have to decide that for yourself. If CM's look the other way when people are filling their mugs with milk intended for coffe, then they do not draw a line. If you chose not to draw your own line, go ahead and take advantage of the system. But please, don't try to rationalize a light cup of coffee into free milk for the baby for the week.

Personally, I would be way more upset over bug bites than I would be over an Icee machine that wasn't always working, To me, it sounds as though the bites may have been from bed bugs (yikes), and that horror can happen anywhere. With that said, I thank the poster as it will remind me to check the bed linens soon after we check into our room in the late Fall.

I also had a question on refills of milk on another POP thread, although with the price of milk being the way it is (ie. very high), common sense told me that it was most likely not included, and it is not.

Sorry to hear about some annoying experiences that you had, Lisa, however I thank you for your post as it gives me a "heads up" on what to expect at our next stay - and how to (hopefully) avoid disappointment when checking out and such.

FWIW- We have stayed at the CBR several times and always heard some sort of noise - the sound of a shower, toilet's flushing, laughter, etc. While I know the CBR is not GF, I figured it is no less noise than I hear at my own home, and I never let it ruin our vacation. Again, bring on a little noise and keep the bugs!

First you must define "the system" before you can take advantage of it. If a product is out there for you to use, I suppose (as any "reasonable person" would) that as long as I use it in a reasonable manner, i.e., for human consumption, whether or not it's mixed with something else, then I wouldn't be bashed for "improper use of a beverage". If milk is something else entirely, and not to be used in the refillable mug, then it should be sold separately. I'd suggest, to be fair to those who cannot have sugar-sweetened products, LIKE toddlers, if there is an alternative made readily available, others should not be so nit-picky about its intended use. If the cost is so extremely prohibitive to Disney, I believe they would have already come up with a lower-cost alternative than making the milk readily available, as it appears to be in some resorts.
It seems to me that the OP had no notion of a "system" whereby the milk was intended only as an additive, and so is completely innocent of any kind of advantage-taking. Perfectly understandable IMHO that she would question the lack of a product in one resort that was made readily available in a comparable resort elsewhere on property.

ITA. In addition, if there was no sign saying the milk was only for coffee and tea, so they really didn't know they shouldn't be using it for refills.

If I'm not mistaken, I think there is a sign that says what is included in the refillable mug program. Milk isn't one of them. We've been buying the mugs for many years with 6 children and have never seen a sign that says milk is included. We just buy the little cartons or Nesquick bottles. :goodvibes

We have stayed at ASMo 3x and ASsp 2x and POP 2x. Milk is available for purchase. My kids eat cereal for breakfast and sometimes dinner. We have never gotten milk from the beverage island. I think the milk that is at the island is the creamer for coffees.
