Why we dislike Americans.

Well, I have to say that I love the USA. Everytime we travel there we always meet the kindest people. My husband lost is wallet in the Lake George area NY and some kind man found it and returned it to him intact. This guy look like a biker and would not take any money from us.
We have countless wonderful experiences from our neighbors to the south and always amazing customer service at most stores.
The best part of America? DISNEY OF COURSE! :cool1:

F4, I just have to say...

1. I am so glad I saw this thread. :yay:
I almost missed it, since for some reason I'm not a regular on the Canadian Board.

2. What you said is very funny.... :rotfl: how you said it is even funnier :rotfl2: and the fact that you reversed the joke thread my friend started about Canadians is hysterically funny. :lmao: (That thread was started to lovingly tease a dear Canadian friend.)

3. Said all that to say: YOU GOT CLASS!! :thumbsup2

And just in case anyone is wondering
YES, ALL THIS IS MEANT AS A GOOD NATURED JOKE
just like the "Canadian" version on the Community Board was/is -- whatever.
We're having fun! It's all good.

Now I'm gonna go back and read this thread!

Thanks I am just glad people are able to see these threads as a joke and not get to uptight about them both this one and the one on the CB they are in jest and meant for fun.

I'm originally from PA, and drank milk out of bags for years from two local dairies who processed their milk that way!
I had never seen it growing up in both the NYC and Chicago area.

The first time I heard of buying milk in bags was from from a Canadian friend of mine who was a prankster. He once tried to convince some fellow American friends that the moon is always below the horizon in Canada. :rotfl2: So when he said that milk is sold primarily in bags and not in the customary to the US jugs or cartons, we did not believe him. We insisted that his pictures of a bag of milk in a milk pitcher was made up and the picture of the grocer's bags of milk was just a well made photoshoped picture. Then one day DW and I were watching The Hurricane (Hurricane Carter story) and there was scene where they were pouring milk out of a bag. I blurted out loud in the middle of the theater, "Holy _ _ _ _, he wasn't joking". :rotfl2:

I emailed him my apologies for not believing him that evening. It's still weird, as I can not think of anything liquid of a quart or more (ok, about a litre or is that liter? :rotfl: ) sold in the US in bags.

Ok, I just thought of one thing. Tropical fish. That makes the thought of milk in bags even more strange. :rotfl:

Is it true that ketchup flavoured potato chips are common up there?

Typical of some of us to not see this as a joke. We try to be polite so our American friends don't take offence.

Well you know what I say:

We kicked your but in 1812!!!! Woohoo!!!
I had quite an interesting conversation with an American. He asked me, as a Canadian, how we percieve Americans. I said that generally, Americans seem to want to go to war too quickly, and they are too boastful. He asked me how Canadians were different, so I explained that generally, Canadians just want to be left alone. We are not wanting to go into a war and are content if trouble makers will go away, and just leave us alone. The converation progerssed to talk about WW2. I said that the Americans didn't win that war. "Of course we did!" he replied. I said no, the Allies won the war, not the Americans. It was a group effort. He conceded, but also announced that the Americans had never lost a war. I said " sure you have". He said "You can't count Viet Nam. That wasn't a true war". I said "I'm not counting Viet Nam." "What war did we ever lose"? he asked. I said the war of 1812. He had never heard of it. So I explained how the Americans had invaded Canada. I told him to look it up- Queenston Hights, Lundy's Lane, etc. So then he asked me what happened. I of course told him that after we won, we said "go away, and just leave us alone". He got a kick out of that.

Hey! I'm a unitedstatesofAmerican and I think dominionofCanadians are funny for drinking milk out of bags. :teeth:
I have not yet seen milk packaged in bags but I have often drunk milk directly out of boxes with fold-out spouts. As a previous poster mentioned I also don't do it when the milk will be shared with others.

How do you keep the bag upright to keep the milk from spilling after you cut the (triangular) corner piece off but don't consume all of the milk?

I also can bend down and drink water out of faucets if there is no drinking fountain handy. Some people consider that gross and it does use more water than filling a glass first.

You have a plastic pitcher that holds the bag.
