Why the lack of Alaskan Trip Reports?

I am headed to Alaska in May and there are so few Alaskan trip reports. There are a ton of Caribbean reports but so few from Alaska and with DCL changing its ports from 2012 to now, its even harder to find consistent information as well. So if you have been to Alaska in 2015 and haven't written a trip report yet, all of us 1st time Alaskan cruisers are saying PRETTY PLEASE?! :)

We went in 2012. Ask away -- we didn't book an excursion in Ketchikan, but walked off the ship and just booked a local guide and had a great time. We did the whale watching in Junuea which was well worth it. And in Skagway we did the White Pass Rail with the side trips to the Yukon, and then toured the Red Onion Saloon upon our return. Skagway was our favorite port for history and ambiance, but it's all great and I would go again. If you want a great place to eat in Ketchikan, go to Annabelles.

My Alaska trip report is in my signature. Have you done a search? I remember seeing quite a few over the years.

The reason I said that was because what I did find seem to be porting out of Seattle or when it stopped at different ports from a few years ago...doesn't seem to be a lot from 2014 and 2015. I did do a search and have read the newer ones...yours included! Thanks for writing one!! I enjoyed reading it!

I read this last month and was riveted. One of the funniest trip reports I've read. She's a great writer!
She is a great writer. We sailed with her and her family on a New Years Eve cruise and we had a great time.

I did the Alaskan this past June. Didn't write a trip report but I can answer questions if you have any.

Don't forget that there's a great big internet out there, and there are great trip reports on other cruise forum sites and in people's' personal blogs. I stumbled onto a great Alaskan report on another site because I google searched a specific stateroom I was interested in, hoping to see photos.

Went on the Inaugural in 2011 again in 2013 and we are going again in May!! Ask away! And we like the first cruise of the year, "spring breakup", fewer cruiseships no mosquitos and less rain!! Your mileage may vary!!! '

You know what's funny...I looked at the "other" cruise site and some of them are real downers on Disney. I prefer the more upbeat and fun ones. Some of them were nice, but a lot of them just complain about price and that the ship is old. I like my fellow disers. :o

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! There are a few that didn't come up when I did a search.

Not sure if mine came up - but in case it helps it's from July/August last year : http://disboards.com/threads/the-un...am-trek-to-alaska-july-27-aug-3-2015.3437413/

We don't do all the Disney things, as you'll see, but I do try to include details because I'm a pretty compulsive planner, so I figure I should pay it forward. :)

I did and I thank you for writing it! I am also a compulsive planner too (which is probably why I feel like there aren't enough recent Alaskan trip reports).

We go in June, so please share your experiences in a trip report too! (-:

I totally plan on it! When in June do you go? We are the very first cruise out of Alaska so we leave the last week of May. If you leave early June then I won't have it written before you leave. :worried:
