Why the change to the Parade Taping?

Are you talking about Enchanted? That was Amy Adams.

If you've seen the movie, then surely you recall that Amy Adams' character was supposed to marry the prince, but in the end stayed in NYC with Patrick Dempsey's character (who was not a prince), and Idina Menzel's character returned to Andalasia with the prince, last seen in cartoon form at their wedding.

Amy Adams character was not a princess in the movie and never became one.

You're right. I have seen the movie but apparently forgot the ending.

Even the best singers have off nights sometimes. (I say this as a singer myself) It can be a cold, or not being able to correctly hear the orchestra (in the case of the Oscar's, I'm sure she had a monitor in her ear to be able to hear the orchestra, since they were pretty far apart) - any time technology is involved, something can go wrong.
Yep. If I remember correctly from the time, she was supposed to sing the entire song, but was told just before that they were cutting parts for time. So she wasn't singing what she had practiced which also threw her off.

As the mother of a theater kid who adores Idina Menzel, I am in awe of her talent. I believe that her casting in Frozen and her performance of Let It Go took that movie to where it is today. I still get tears in my eyes at those high notes, she is amazing!

I always thought they should have had her sing at the end of Enchanted when she married Edward.

So if they had to change the schedule for her, then great. She deserves it.

I had no idea Idina Menzel was in Enchanted! We'll have to re-watch it.
