Today I was on recess duty and these 2 little girls come up to me and start talking about princesses...one was Ariel and one was Sleeping Beauty. Then "Sleeping Beauty" asked me if I would help her find her friend, she said "Childs name is a black boy with a yellow shirt on" Ariel then replies "black people are bad people":scared1: I said no they are not. Ariel said "My dad says they are" I told her,"well your dad is wrong"
These kids are 4. Why why why , would you teach your child hate. I dont get it. It upset me very much.

Because if people are truly hateful, they're usually set in their ways and feel that their beliefs are right, regardless. They therefore have no problem passing these "facts" down to their kids :sad2: It's sickening.

That is so upsetting...and I've heard that more than once around here... These parents are setting their children up for failure, and for a life unprepared to move forward... they are causing much more harm than they know.

disgusting :sad2: :sad1:

see it every day.....i would argue we saw it last night when sarah palin broke out the old "some of my best friends are gay" line....however she would deny her "best" friends equal protection under the law.

I see this crap every day. Some of these people exist in my own family. It is truly sad

Wow

Of course if you mention it to the parents, they will swear the child picked it up from someone at school.

Wait a second. She not only doesn't deny them equal protection, it was her term that they received equal protection in Alaska. Disagree with her policies fine, but get the policies right.

That is awful. That is not right. That is just plain, flat-out wrong!

You are almost certainly correct, at least for probably 99%. Someone teaching their children to hate just because of sex, race, etc (even because of sexual orientation) I think is absolutely wrong. Having prejudices is human, in my opinion, but what we do with it is what counts. I have to mentality overcome my prejudices when I am dealing with someone for the first time, and almost always I find they are wrong. Sometimes they (my prejudices) are reinforced, but that is because of an individual, not a group.

I worked hard as a parent to not have my kids develop my prejudices. I felt it was important for my kids to have their own experiences and views. At 4 I don't think my kids had any prejudices, at least that I could see. This is someone (the dad) who is someone I don't think I would want to know in any way.

Have you ever seen Westboro Baptist Hate Group? It takes some seriously nasty adults to have their 8 year old holding a sign that says "thank god for IEDs" or " too bad for another dead soldier." That sort of stuff should be considered child abuse.

That's a shame! Some parents don't deserve children.

couldn't agree more. well this father who told his daughter that blacks are bad people.. he better embrace himself because if Obama wins the presidential election, he is doomed! :sad2: one of these days he will get a wake up call from above and will learn to "love thy neighbor."

That is disgusting! I hope this child learns to be more open-minded than her father...

That is horrible. I have been subbing and I guess on Fridays the 5th grade class has a couple of kids go into the self-contained classroom to play games with the kids in there. One of the girls says to another one, "I hope you survive." I asked her why she would say something like that. :confused3 :confused3

Well, there are lots of good people out there and the only thing we can do is teach our kids tolerance and acceptance. Indulge my mommy brag...ds was 5 when he put his arm around his friend of another race and said, "You know how me and you look different on the outside? Well, we are both the same on the inside". Then he adds, "Like, we both have livers and spleens". :rotfl2:
